  2. 2. Experimental Design and Evaluation of Biocide Release from Microcapsules

    Författare :Jonatan Bergek; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; microsphere; microscopic and macroscopic porosity; controlled release; internal phase separation method; Microcapsule; biocide; polyelectrolyte multilayer;

    Sammanfattning : To protect a painted house façade from mold or algae, anti-growth agents are usually mixed in the paint. The protection of paint systems used in the past relied on heavy metals for protection and are banned today due to their negative impact on the environment. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : The thesis concerns polyelectrolyte gels in contact with oppositely charged proteins and surfactant micelles, and includes of four papers (I-IV). In paper I confocal Raman spectroscopy was introduced as a method to trace micelles and investigate the structure of gel-surfactant complexes, in phase separated gel spheres. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Endothelium-derived substances and regional hemodynamics in experimental hypertension

    Författare :Sven-Olof Granstam; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Medical sciences; nitric oxide; endothelin; hypertension; rats; SHR; hemodynamics; blood pressure; blood flow; acetylcholine; carvedilol; microsphere method; MEDICIN OCH VÅRD; MEDICINE; MEDICIN; Medicine; medicin;

    Sammanfattning : The spontaneously hypertensive rat (SHR), a model for experimental hypertension, is considered to have similarities with essential hypertension in humans. Differences between SHR and normotensive Wistar Kyoto rats (WKY) in the vascular response to endothelial-derived substances such as nitric oxide (NO) have been intensively studied in vitro. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Artificial receptors: New opportunities for the exploitation of molecularly imprinted polymers

    Författare :Lei Ye; Tillämpad biokemi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Radioimmunoassay; Microsphere; Molecular imprinting; Drug determination; Cross-linking polymerisation; Combinatorial library; Chromatography; Chiral separation; Affinity adsorbent; Biosensor; Receptor; Biochemistry; Metabolism; Biokemi; metabolism; Biotechnology; Bioteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Molecular imprinting, method for creating artificial receptors that are mimics of biological antibodies and receptors, is based on the concept of creating substrate-specific recognition sites in polymeric matrices by means of template polymerisation. The polymeric receptors produced display favourable binding characteristics, such as high affinity and specificity towards the substrate molecules. LÄS MER
