  1. 1. Interfacing HPLC with MALDI- and ESI-MS for Automated High Sensitivity Analysis of Proteins and Peptides

    Författare :Tasso Miliotis; Lund Institutionen för kliniska vetenskaper; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; automated; phosphorylation; ZAP-70; peptides; proteins; comprehensive; multidimensional; two-dimensional; piezoelectric; microdispenser; flow-through; ESI-MS MS; Capillary HPLC; MALDI-TOF MS; Analytical chemistry; Analytisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : The research described in this thesis has an interdisciplinary approach dealing with chemical, biological, and technical issues. One objective was to interface miniaturized liquid chromatography (LC) to mass spectrometry, i.e. MALDI-TOF MS and ESI-MS, in an unattended mode for high sensitivity determination of proteins and peptides. 2. 2. Microactuators for Powerful Pumps

    Författare :Roger Bodén; Klas Hjort; Jan-Åke Schweitz; Johan Nilsson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; µTAS; chromatography; high pressure; lab-on-a-chip; microactuator; microdispenser; micropump; on-chip; paraffin; PCM; point-of-care; Engineering physics; Teknisk fysik;

    Sammanfattning : When paraffin wax melts it exhibits a large, relatively incompressible volume expansion. This can be used in microactuators for strong and large displacements, a rare combination among actuators. Furthermore, paraffin is inexpensive, inert and environmentally friendly, as well as easily processed and actuated. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Sample Handling Techniques in Biological and Environmental Applications Emphasizing Biomolecular Recognition and MALDI-TOF MS

    Författare :Patrik Önnerfjord; Reumatologi och molekylär skelettbiologi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; protein identification; microchip IMER; microdispensing; MALDI-TOF MS; fluorescence polarization; flow immunoassay; pesticide immunoassays; phenol biosensor; restricted access media; SPE; Analytical chemistry; Analytisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : The use of restricted access media and other stationary phases for clean-up and trace enrichment of environmental samples coupled on-line to liquid chromatography using diode array detection as well as thermospray MS is described. This on-line configuration was compared with commercially available ELISAs for the determination of triazines in complex matrices, showing superior precision and accuracy with the chromatographic method.
