    Sammanfattning : Cancer is a disease characterized by abnormal proliferation of cells in the body and ranks as the second leading cause of death worldwide. In order to improve cancer patient care, a major focus of cancer research is to discover biomarkers. LÄS MER

  2. 2. In search of early biomarkers in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma using multi-omics and bioinformatics

    Författare :Emmy Borgmästars; Malin Sund; Ola Billing; Pär Jonsson; Zelmina Lubovac-Pilav; Oskar Franklin; Stefan Enroth; Umeå universitet; []

    Sammanfattning : Background: Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is a very aggressive malignancy with a 5-year survival of 10 %. Surgery is the only curative treatment. Unfortunately, few patients are eligible for surgery due to late detection. Thus, we need ways to detect the disease at an earlier stage and for that good screening biomarkers could be used. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Involvement of epigenetic mechanisms in disease inheritance and pathogenesis of multiple sclerosis (MS) with a focus on genomic imprinting and DNA methylation in CD4+ T cells

    Författare :Sabrina Ruhrmann; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a chronic inflammatory and neurodegenerative disease driven by autoreactive CD4+ T cells. Disease etiology is mediated by a strong interplay between genetic and environmental factors implying a role for epigenetic mechanisms. LÄS MER
