1. Studies of auroral processes using optical methods
Sammanfattning : The Aurora is a visual manifestation of the complex plasma processes that occur as the solar wind interacts with the Earth’s magnetosphere and ionosphere. Therefore, studies of the aurora can lead to better understanding of the near-Earth space environment and of fundamental physical processes. LÄS MER
2. Cardiac effects of non-adrenergic inotropic drugs : clinical and experimental studies
Sammanfattning : Background: Myocardial failure and dysfunction is not uncommon during critical illness and following cardiac surgery. For optimal treatment, a better understanding of the effects of inotropic drugs is needed. In this thesis, two non-adrenergic mediated inotropes, milrinone and levosimendan were studied in different models of myocardial dysfunction. LÄS MER
3. The Physiology of Chicken Domestication : Involvement of the HPA-axis and the Autonomic Nervous System
4. Development of Aerobic Oxidative N-Heterocyclic Carbene Catalysis via Multistep Electron Transfer and its Application
Sammanfattning : Oxidation reactions are ubiquitous in synthetic chemistry, but generally suffer from formation of large amounts of potentially toxic byproducts. Aerial oxygen represents an ideal oxidant since it is inexpensive, non-toxic and only forms water as a byproduct. LÄS MER
