16. Eco-friendly Holocellulose Materials for Mechanical Performance and Optical Transmittance
Sammanfattning : Cellulosic materials can be sustainable replacements for fossil-based plastics; yet for some applications improvements are needed for mechanical properties, optical transmittance and eco-friendly characteristics. In this thesis, holocellulose materials are investigated for this purpose, and processing-structure-property relationships are discussed. LÄS MER
17. Design of Functional Polymeric Nanoparticles for Biomedical Applications
Sammanfattning : Most of the devastating diseases such as cancer are relatively incurable and have high risks of relapse. Therefore, persistent endeavors have been devoted to improve patient survival rate and quality of life. LÄS MER
18. Generic Properties of Polymer Solutions
Sammanfattning : Polymer solutions are abundantly present in our daily life, for example in paints, jellies, contact lenses and even in the living cells. Despite their ubiquity, we still have a poor understanding of the physical properties of solutions due to the extremely large number of internal degrees of freedom. LÄS MER
19. Amphiphilic Polymers as Additives in Biomedical Polyurethanes. Surface Properties and Morphology
Sammanfattning : The aim of this work was to achieve surface modification of two biomedical polyurethanes and one poly(urethane urea) through the addition of small amounts of amphiphilic copolymers in solution. The matrix polymers used were the poly(ether urethane)s Pellethane 2363-80AE (P80) and 2363-75D (P75) and a poly(ether urethane urea) similar to Biomer (PUUR). LÄS MER
20. ARGET ATRP as a Tool for Cellulose Modification
Sammanfattning : The importance of finding new applications for cellulose‐based products has increased, especially to meet the demand for new environmentally friendly materials, but also since the digitalization of our society will eventually decrease the need for paper. To expand the application area of cellulose, modification to improve and/or introduce new properties can be a requisite. LÄS MER
