  1. 21. Integration of thermochemical processes with existing waste management industries to enhance biomethane production

    Författare :Chaudhary Awais Salman; Jinyue Yan; Eva Thorin; Yang Weihong; Mälardalens högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; polygeneration; process integration; integrated biorefineries; biomethane; Energy- and Environmental Engineering; energi- och miljöteknik;

    Sammanfattning : In most waste management industries, waste is separated into different fractions, each of which is treated with suitable processes. Established technologies such as waste combustion for combined heat and power (CHP) production and biomethane production through anaerobic digestion (AD) of biodegradable waste work fine as standalone processes. 2. 22. Utilizing CO2 from biomethane production : Sustainability and climate performance

    Författare :Stephanie S. Cordova; Mats Eklund; Marcus Gustafsson; Niclas Svensson; Valentina Bisinella; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Biomethane; Carbon capture and utilization; CCU; CO₂ utilization;

    Sammanfattning : Biogas solutions offer many benefits for the environment and society, including organic waste treatment as well as being an enabler for energy and nutrient recovery. The products of anaerobic digestion are a biogas, which contains a share of 30 to 50% carbon dioxide (CO2) and 50 to 70% methane, and a liquid remanent, rich in nutrients. LÄS MER

  3. 23. On Alternative Fuels for Internal Combustion Engines : A study of biodiesel, gaseous methane and methanol

    Författare :Ludvig Adlercreutz; Andreas Cronhjort; Ola Stenlåås; Magnus Sjöberg; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Gaseous methane combustion; spark ignition; single cylinder research engine; particle number; particle emissions; oil ash content; CO2; Green House Gases; engine testing; engine development; emissions; combustion chamber design; injector fouling; environmental impact; road transportation; Machine Design; Maskinkonstruktion;

    Sammanfattning :  This thesis covers some of the environmental impacts of internalcombustion engines running on alternative fuels. The focus of thestudies conveyed is the reduction of greenhouse gases and particleemissions, as these two factors are of great importance for the pathsthat road transportation is facing. LÄS MER

  4. 24. An evaluation of regional sustainability by analysing energy and carbon flows – A study of Jämtland, Sweden

    Författare :Torbjörn Skytt; Bengt-Gunnar Jonsson; Fredrik Ståhl; Magdalena Svanström; Mittuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Regional sustainability; Energy flows; Exergy; Carbon GHG fluxes; Sustainability indicators; carbon dioxide emissions; methane emissions; nature emissions;

    Sammanfattning : Models showing the anthropogenic and natural flows of two sustainability indicators; carbon based GHG and energy (as work energy) have been made for the Swedish region Jämtland. The methodology used was inspired by the study sustainability analysis conducted on the small Danish island Samsø using the above two indicators. LÄS MER

  5. 25. Cobalt and Nickel Bioavailability for Biogas Formation

    Författare :Jenny Gustavsson; Bo Svensson; Anna Karlsson; Piet N.L. Lens; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Biogas production; bioavailability; cobalt; nickel; sequential extraction; S XANES; 454-pyrosequencing.; Biogasproduktion; biotillgänglighet; kobolt; nickel; sekventiell extraktion; S XANES; 454-pyrosekvensering;

    Sammanfattning : Supplementation of trace metals such as Co and Ni may improve anaerobic digestion of organic material for biogas formation. Which trace metals that are needed and the quantity to apply are, at least partly, related to metal speciation and bioavailability. LÄS MER
