  1. 21. Kön och förändring : Kontinuitet och normalitet i anhörigas relationer till transsexuella

    Författare :Helena Bergström; Ola Halldén; Hillevi Lenz Taguchi; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :gender categorisation; identity; normality; transsexualism; relatives; narratives; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; pedagogik; Education;

    Sammanfattning : The categorisation of people into two kinds of subjects, men and women, as well as the notion that gender is natural and lifelong, are predominant ideas in contemporary society. When gender categories are challenged, new questions about gender arise. LÄS MER

  2. 22. Att besvärja döden : Död- och återfödelsetematiken i Lars Noréns författarskap 1963-1999

    Författare :Yvonne Blomberg; Tom Hedlund; Per Bäckström; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Lars Norén; modern Swedish literature; thematic method; myth interpretation; chronos; kairos; death and resurrection; Literature; Litteraturvetenskap; litteraturvetenskap; Literature;

    Sammanfattning : Lars Norén’s poetical world is filled with the living and the dead, history and memory. This study is the first one of its kind that treats myths and religious ideas in Norén’s works. Its aim is to examine the centre of his oeuvre, namely a striving in the texts to heal disintegration and to beseech death in order to maintain a life process. LÄS MER

  3. 23. Endocrine Disruption in Amphibians : Developmental Effects of Ethynylestradiol and Clotrimazole on the Reproductive System

    Författare :Irina Gyllenhammar; Cecilia Berg; Ingvar Brandt; Lena Holm; Joakim Larsson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Test system; Xenopus tropicalis; Rana temporaria; sex ratio; sex differentiation; fertility; aromatase; ovary; testis; oviduct; Biology; Biologi;

    Sammanfattning : Amphibian populations are declining world-wide and one of the suggested reasons is environmental pollutants. Studies of long-term effects on the reproductive system in frogs following larval exposure to environmental pollutants are scarce. It is therefore important to develop methods to study developmental reproductive toxicity in amphibians. LÄS MER

  4. 24. Evolutionary ecology of ultraviolet-B radiation stress tolerance in amphibians

    Författare :Maarit Pahkala; Trevor Beebee; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Developmental biology; amphibians; anomalies; embryonic development; geographic variation; growth; Rana arvalis; Rana temporaria; survival; UV-B radiation; Utvecklingsbiologi; Developmental biology; Utvecklingsbiologi; populationsbiologi; Population Biology;

    Sammanfattning : During the last decades many amphibian species and populations have experienced declines and extinctions in different parts of the world. Anthropogenic activities are believed to account for these declines, and one of the hypothesized causes has been the increased level of ultraviolet-B (UV-B) radiation due to depletion of the stratospheric ozone layer. 5. 25. Local Adaptation, Countergradient Variation and Ecological Genetics of Life-history Traits in Rana Temporaria

    Författare :Ane Timenes Laugen; Wolf Blanckenhorn; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Ecology; amphibians; Bergmanns rule; body size clines; countergradient variation; developmental rate; FST; temperature; QST; Ekologi; Terrestrial; freshwater and marine ecology; Terrestisk; limnisk och marin ekologi; populationsbiologi; Population Biology;

    Sammanfattning : The main aim of this work was to identify local adaptation processes in amphibian populations, thereby improving the general understanding of genetics and mechanisms behind the evolution and maintenance of biological diversity. Phenotypic and genetic variation in life-history traits was studied within and between populations common frog (Rana temporaria) populations along a 1600 km transect from southern Sweden to northern Finland.
