16. Ab initio Lattice Dynamics : Hydrogen-dense and Other Materials
Sammanfattning : This thesis presents a theoretical study of materials under high pressure using ab initio lattice dynamics based on density functional theory and density functional perturbation theory using both super-cell and linear response approach. 17. Electrical Characterization of Metal-Oxide-Silicon Structures with Ultra Thin Oxide Layers
Sammanfattning : Metal-oxide-semiconductor (MOS) structures with very thin (2 - 4 nm) oxide layers thermally grown on silicon have been electrically characterized regarding oxide and interface defects and concerning the direct tunnel current through the oxide. This thesis comprises eight papers which deal with the appearance of oxide charge during electrical stress (papers A, D, E), the beneficial effect on the defect density of low-temperature (up to 350 °C) post-metallization annealing (PMA) (paper A, B, C, G), and the effect of temperature and choice of metal for the tunnel current (paper F, H). 18. Interactions between iron oxides and the additives olivine, quartzite and calcite in magnetite pellets
Sammanfattning : In the present study, magnetite pellets with the additives olivine, calcite and quartzite were isothermally reduced in a tubular furnace to study the interaction between iron oxides and the additives. Exaggerated amounts of additives were used in order to enable analyses of phases that do not otherwise occur in sufficient amounts for X-ray diffraction and EDS-analyses. LÄS MER
