6. Bioaccessibility, corrosion and surface properties of metals, alloys and metallic powder in biological fluids of relevance for occupational and consumer health hazard assessment
Sammanfattning : When assessing hazards of metals, alloys, and metal-containing items, the metal release (bioaccessibility) is of high importance. Triggered by increasingly stricter hazard classifications for metals, especially cobalt (Co), and limited knowledge, the aim of this doctoral thesis is to assess correlations between the metal/alloy surface characteristics, corrosion and metal release pattern in different simulated biological fluids relevant to human exposure scenarios (dermal, ingestion and inhalation, Papers I-V). 7. Wear in sheet metal forming
Sammanfattning : The general trend in the car body manufacturing industry is towards low-series production and reduction of press lubricants and car weight. The limited use of press lubricants, in combination with the introduction of high and ultra-high strength sheet materials, continuously increases the demands of the forming tools. LÄS MER
8. Mechanics of sheet metal forming : strength, stiffness, dent resistance, and springback of double-curved autobody panels : fracture and wringling in stretch and shrink flanging by fluid forming

9. Synthesis and Characterization of Transition Metal Diborides
Sammanfattning : This thesis is devoted towards physical vapor deposition (PVD) of thin films of transition-metal (TM) diborides, focused on the material system TiBx, Ti1-xAlxB2-y and CrBx. The metal diborides are a large family of compounds with both metallic and ceramic properties, due to its bonding nature being a mix of covalent and ionic bonds. LÄS MER
10. Wear mechanisms in sheet metal forming : Effects of tool microstructure, adhesion and temperature
Sammanfattning : The general trend in the car body manufacturing industry is towards low-series production and reduction of press lubricants and car weight. The limited use of lubricants, in combination with the introduction of high and ultrahigh-strength sheet materials, continuously increases the demands on the forming tools. LÄS MER
