1. Receptivity, Stability and Sensitivity analysis of two- and three-dimensional flows
Sammanfattning : This work deals with various aspects of boundary-layer stability. Modal and non-modal approaches are first used in the study of the global stability of a jet in crossflow. LÄS MER
2. Inverse Identification of Dynamic Wheel-rail Contact Forces
Sammanfattning : Accurate evaluation of contact forces between wheel and rail is essential in the assessmentof vehicle performance and to predict consequences of dynamic vehicle-track interaction. As the contact forces can not be measured directly in the field, one common approachis to measure the strain or acceleration at various positions on a wheel or wheel axle. 3. Parastomal hernia : investigation and treatment
Sammanfattning : BackgroundParastomal hernia is a common stoma complication causing the patient considerable inconvenience. The patient becomes aware of a bulge around the stoma, but a bulge is not always a parastomal hernia and diagnostics must be performed to enable differential treatment. It is difficult to distinguish between a bulge and a hernia. LÄS MER
4. Flexural Strengthening of Reinforced Concrete Beams Using Externally Bonded CFRP--An Innovative Method for the Application of Prestressed CFRP Laminates
Sammanfattning : A large number of existing bridges in European countries are structurally deficient and functionally obsolete due to the deterioration of aging bridges and the lack of structural and geometric capacity to accommodate the increasing traffic volume and load levels. To meet the demand for holistic and effective strengthening techniques the SUREBRIDGE solution is proposed for the refurbishment of concrete bridges, which includes the technique of using prestressed carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) laminate as externally bonded reinforcement for flexural strengthening. 5. A Microwave Tomography Framework for Monitoring of Pharmaceutical Processes
Sammanfattning : Industrial pharmaceutical processes may be very difficult to monitor and control. Today, an important research fields is non-invasive measurement techniques that provide information about thematerial distribution inside the process. In this thesis, a microwave tomography (MWT) framework for monitoring of pharmaceutical processes is presented. LÄS MER
