  1. 1. Solar Wind Proton Interactions with Lunar Magnetic Anomalies and Regolith

    Författare :Charles Lue; Yoshifumi Futaana; Stas Barabash; Urs Mall; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; the Moon; solar wind; magnetic anomalies; regolith; space physics; plasma physics; particle-surface interactions; mini-magnetospheres; energetic neutral atoms; Space Physics; rymdfysik;

    Sammanfattning : The lunar space environment is shaped by the interaction between the Moon and the solar wind. In the present thesis, we investigate two aspects of this interaction, namely the interaction between solar wind protons and lunar crustal magnetic anomalies, and the interaction between solar wind protons and lunar regolith. 2. 2. Precision Improvements of Penning Trap Mass Measurements Using Highly Charged Ions : Applications to solving current problems in fundamental physics

    Författare :Tomas Fritioff; Reinhold Schuch; Jürgen Kluge; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Atomic and molecular physics; Atom- och molekylfysik; Physics; fysik;

    Sammanfattning : In my thesis I describe the improvements of the Penning trap mass spectrometer SMILETRAP. The objective of these improvements have been to increase the reliability and the accuracy with which an atomic mass can be measured using highly charged ions. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Magnetic and Chemical Structures in Stellar Atmospheres

    Författare :Oleg Kochukhov; Nikolai Piskunov; Georges Michaud; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Astronomy; chemically peculiar stars; high-resolution spectroscopy; magnetic fields; Doppler imaging; rapidly oscillating Ap stars; Astronomi; Astronomy and astrophysics; Astronomi och astrofysik; Astronomy; Astronomi;

    Sammanfattning : We present an investigation of the magnetic field geometries and inhomogeneous distribution of chemical elements in the atmospheres of peculiar A and B stars. Our study combines high-quality spectroscopic and spectropolarimetric stellar observations with the development and application of novel techniques for theoretical interpretation of the shapes and variability of stellar line profiles.
