  1. 21. Computational Studies of Metal Clusters and Carbon Nanotubes

    Författare :Anders Börjesson; Högskolan i Borås; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; carbon nanotube; metal clusters; nanotubesmetal junction; melting temperatures; nanotechnology; molecular dynamics; monte carlo; tight binding; atomistic simulations; Energi och material;

    Sammanfattning : Carbon nanotubes constitute a promising candidate material in the realisation of nanoscaled electronics. This requires the ability for systematic production of carbon nanotubes with certain properties. This is called selective carbon nanotube growth. LÄS MER

  2. 22. Temperature measurements on silicon core fibers during CO2 laser processing

    Författare :Korbinian Mühlberger; Michael Fokine; Valerio Pruneri; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Fysik; Physics;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis presents temperature measurements on silicon core optical fibers during CO2 laser processing. Silicon core fibers are a new type of fiber offering a unique platform to combine the optoelectronic properties of silicon and the possibilities of the optical fiber platform. LÄS MER

  3. 23. Retrogradation Properties of Starch

    Författare :José Silverio; Livsmedelsteknik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; surfactants; lipids; degree of polymerization DP ; isothermal microcalorimetry; differential scanning calorimetry DSC ; crystallinity; amylose; amylopectin; gelatinization; starch; retrogradation; temperature cycling; PCA; Food and drink technology; Livsmedelsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The main purpose of this thesis was to examine various factors influencing starch retrogradation. The reassociation events of starch, which are closely linked to the staling of bakery products, were mainly studied by thermal analysis. Some aspects of starch gelatinization are also included. 4. 24. Towards Single Molecule Imaging - Understanding Structural Transitions Using Ultrafast X-ray Sources and Computer Simulations

    Författare :Carl Caleman; Janos Hajdu; Richard Neutze; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Molecular biophysics; XFEL; Ultrafast Melting; InSb; Molecular Dynamics; Water Cluster; Evaporation; Secondary Electron; Photo-cathode; Electron Scattering; Energy Loss Function; Single Particle Imaging; X-ray Diffraction; Water; Ice; KI; CsI; Molekylär biofysik;

    Sammanfattning : X-ray lasers bring us into a new world in photon science by delivering extraordinarily intense beams of x-rays in very short bursts that can be more than ten billion times brighter than pulses from other x-ray sources. These lasers find applications in sciences ranging from astrophysics to structural biology, and could allow us to obtain images of single macromolecules when these are injected into the x-ray beam.
