2. Study on Metallic Melt Coolant Interactions and Debris Bed Formation in a Water Pool
Sammanfattning : To assess corium coolability during severe accidents of LWR, significant number of studies have been conducted previously to investigate the characteristics of debris beds formed from FCI due to fragmentation of molten corium and settlement of the fragments in a water pool. However, their focus has been placed on the oxidic component (UO2/ZrO2) of corium, while little attention has been paid to the debris bed formation due to FCI of the metallic component (Zr/Fe) of corium. 3. Phenomenological and mechanistic modeling of melt-structure-water interactions in a light water reactor (LWR) severe accident
Sammanfattning : Severe accidents in light water reactors have been the fotalpoint of much research, performed in the last two decades, aimed at understarrding the inherent physical phenomena and toevaluate proposed accident management schemes for mitigatingthe consequences of such accidents. Severe accident progressionand consequences, av the reactor core overheats and melts, areintimately related to the interactions of the melt with coolant(water) and structures. LÄS MER
4. Theoretical magnetohydrodynamic and solidification studies of continuous strip casting
Sammanfattning : The continuous casting of steel strips has been under investigation and development for several decades. The aim of this development is to be able to cast steel strips in a thickness range from 1 to 10 mm. Today, there are basically two such methods: the single-belt caster and the twin-roll caster. 5. Highly-filled biocomposites: modelling, processing, and characterization
Sammanfattning : The use of polymer with natural fiber reinforcements is expected to increase significantly. This can be noted in several industrial sectors of strategic importance for Sweden, such as automotive, packaging, construction, and furniture industries. LÄS MER
