  1. 1. Advanced Machine Learning Methods for Oncological Image Analysis

    Författare :Mehdi Astaraki; Chunliang Wang; Örjan Smedby; Iuliana Toma-Dasu; Bjoern Menze; KTH; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Medical Image Analysis; Machine Learning; Deep Learning; Survival Analysis; Early Response Assessment; Tumor Classification; Tumor Segmentation; Medicinsk teknologi; Medical Technology;

    Sammanfattning : Cancer is a major public health problem, accounting for an estimated 10 million deaths worldwide in 2020 alone. Rapid advances in the field of image acquisition and hardware development over the past three decades have resulted in the development of modern medical imaging modalities that can capture high-resolution anatomical, physiological, functional, and metabolic quantitative information from cancerous organs. 2. 2. Problem-based and conventional medical education from a student perspective : a qualitative analysis comparing students' experience of medical education, approach to learning and reading comprehension

    Författare :Ameneh Rahimi; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Problem-Based Learning PBL ; medical education; learning approach; learning outcome; attitudes; experimental design; qualitative analysis.;

    Sammanfattning : The study is primarily an empirical investigation to students' experiences of university education, approaches to learning and comprehension of a learning task. Sixty medical students, equally distributed over a PBL and a traditional medical school have participated in this study. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Understanding learning and learning for understanding : Exploring medical students' personal understandings of learning tasks and experiences of learning and understanding in medicine

    Författare :Anna Bonnevier; Max Scheja; Anna Josephson; Thomas Lavelle; Madeleine Abrandt Dahlgren; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Approaches to learning; experiences of learning; higher education; high-quality understanding; medical student learning; pedagogik; Education;

    Sammanfattning : The central concern of the thesis is to problematise the complexity of the relationship between student learning and the teaching-learning environment in medicine as experienced by students. The thesis argues that learning material presented to students offers only potential for learning. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Bridging the gap between caring theory and nursing practice : Learning experiences of undergraduate nursing students in a caring behavior course

    Författare :Sophie Mårtensson; Maria Björk; Susanne Knutsson; Anders Broström; Eric A. Hodges; Mariann Fossum; Jönköping University; []

    Sammanfattning : Background: Healthcare providers are obligated to practice with scientific knowledge in order to deliver high quality and safe care based on patients’ needs. Despite this obligation, complaints from care recipients and their significant others regarding healthcare providers’ lack of compassion and competent care in their professional encounters have increased. 5. 5. Artificial Intelligence for Non-Contact-Based Driver Health Monitoring

    Författare :Hamidur Rahman; Mobyen Uddin Ahmed; Shahina Begum; Peter Funk; Hasan Fleyeh; Mälardalens högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Driver Monitoring; Artificial Intelligence; Machine Learning; Deep Learning; Computer Science; datavetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : In clinical situations, a patient’s physical state is often monitored by sensors attached to the patient, and medical staff are alerted if the patient’s status changes in an undesirable or life-threatening direction. However, in unsupervised situations, such as when driving a vehicle, connecting sensors to the driver is often troublesome and wired sensors may not produce sufficient quality due to factors such as movement and electrical disturbance.
