  1. 11. Improving Multi-Atlas Segmentation Methods for Medical Images

    Författare :Jennifer Alvén; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Supervised learning; semantic segmentation; multi-atlas segmentation; conditional random fields; label fusion; feature-based registration; image registration; random decision forests; convolutional neural networks; medical image segmentation;

    Sammanfattning : Semantic segmentation of organs or tissues, i.e. delineating anatomically or physiologically meaningful boundaries, is an essential task in medical image analysis. One particular class of automatic segmentation algorithms has proved to excel at a diverse set of medical applications, namely multi-atlas segmentation. LÄS MER

  2. 12. The EEG of the Neonatal Brain – Classification of Background Activity

    Författare :Johan Löfhede; Högskolan i Borås; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; hypoxia; newborn; segmentation; asphyxia; cerebral; classification; neonatal; EEG;

    Sammanfattning : The brain requires a continuous supply of oxygen and nutrients, and even a short period of reduced oxygen supply can cause severe and lifelong consequences for the affected individual. The unborn baby is fairly robust, but there are of course limits also for these individuals. The most sensitive and most important organ is the brain. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Attenuation of hand-held machine vibrations. Application of non-linear tuned vibration absorber

    Författare :Hans Lindell; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Impact machine; Hand-arm vibration; High frequency vibration; ATVA; Nonlinear tuned vibration absorber; White finger; HAVS; Transient vibration; Auto Tuned Vibration Absorber; Vibration dynamics; ISO 5349;

    Sammanfattning : Vibration injury in the hand-arm system from vibrating hand-held machines is one of the most common occupational health injuries and causes severe and often chronic nerve and vascular injuries to the operator. The objective with this study is to contribute to reduce hand-arm vibration injuries, first by developing methods of redesigning machines that will lower their vibration level and second to study how high frequency vibrations (HFV) above 1250 Hz effect the finger tissue which are not included in the current standard for risk evaluation. 4. 14. The Colours of Diabetes : advances and novel applications of molecular optical techniques for studies of the pancreas

    Författare :Christoffer Nord; Ulf Ahlgren; Ian Smyth; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Optical projection tomography; Technique development; Near-infrared; 3D visualization; Biomedical imaging; ß-cell mass; Diabetes; Vibrational micro spectroscopy;

    Sammanfattning : Diabetes is a rapidly increasing health problem. In a global perspective,approximately 415 million people suffered from diabetes in 2015 and this number ispredicted to increase to 640 million by 2040. To tackle this pandemic there is a needfor better analytical tools by which we can increase our understanding of the disease. LÄS MER

  5. 15. Shades of Certainty : Annotation and Classification of Swedish Medical Records

    Författare :Sumithra Velupillai; Hercules Dalianis; Martin Hassel; Sabine Bergler; Stockholms universitet; []
