  1. 1. On Direct Drive Bone Conduction Devices - Hearing Rehabilitation and Objective Assessment of Stimulation Methods

    Författare :Cristina Rigato; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Bone Conduction Implant; audiology; comparative study; Direct Drive; active transcutaneous; vibrations; Bone Conduction Devices;

    Sammanfattning : Bone conduction devices (BCDs) rely on the transmission of sound in form of vibrations generated by a transducer to the inner ear via the skull and surrounding soft tissues. Direct drive BCDs stimulate the skull bone directly, either via a skin-penetrating abutment (BAHAs, Bone Anchored Hearing Aids), or with a transducer implanted under intact skin (active transcutaneous devices). 2. 2. The Bone Conduction Implant (BCI) - Preclinical Studies, Technical Design and a Clinical Evaluation

    Författare :Hamidreza Taghavi; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Bone conduction implant; Amplitude modulation; Bone anchored hearing aid; Radio frequency power amplifier and inductive link; Long-term implantation.; Low-power systems; Implanted transducer;

    Sammanfattning : The Bone Conduction Implant (BCI) system has been developed as an alternative to the percutaneous bone anchored hearing aid (BAHA) with the advantage that the skin is kept intact. The transducer is permanently implanted and attached to the skull via a flat surface contact to the temporal bone. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Managing Effects of Manufacturing Variation in Dental Medical Device Treatments - Increasing Geometrical Robustness

    Författare :Timo Kero; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; mass customization and dentistry.; medical devices; virtual verification; Robust design; variation simulation; tolerance analysis;

    Sammanfattning : Today, there are many solutions for dental rehabilitation. A damaged tooth can be replaced with a dental crown, and a toothless patient can be rehabilitated with implants and a corresponding bridge set-up. Traditionally, a dental crown is manufactured by veneering porcelain to a metal surface that is obtained through the use of casting principles. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Minimally Invasive Catheter-Based Technologies

    Författare :Mikael Sandell; Göran Stemme; Staffan Holmin; Niclas Roxhed; Wouter van der Wijngaart; Stefan Jonsson; Duncan Maitland; KTH; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Medicinsk teknologi; Medical Technology;

    Sammanfattning : A simple incision procedure in a blood vessel makes the entire vascular system accessible. Through contrast injection and X-ray visualization, the vascular tree can be mapped and navigated through manual manipulation of thin tubes and wires. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Bioactive Surgical Implant Coatings with Optional Antibacterial Function

    Författare :Mirjam Lilja; Maria Strømme; Håkan Engqvist; Håvard Haugen; Uppsala universitet; []
