  1. 1. Substance use in adolescents and young adults: Interactions of drugs of abuse and the role of parents and peers in early onset of substance use

    Författare :Jonas Berge; Lund Psykiatri; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Substance use; Alcohol; Tobacco; Cannabis; Illicit drugs; Adolescents; Young adults;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Misuse of substances is a major contributor to disability and mortality worldwide. The use of tobacco, alcohol, and illegal drugs in adolescence and young adulthood are well-known risk factors for subsequent substance-related harms. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Substance Use and Violence : Influence of Alcohol, Illicit Drugs and Anabolic Androgenic Steroids on Violent Crime and Self-directed Violence

    Författare :Lena Lundholm; Ingemar Thiblin; Ulrika Haggård; Claudia Fahlke; Johan Hallqvist; Tom Palmstierna; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Substance abuse; violent crime; violent suicide; anabolic androgenic steroids;

    Sammanfattning : Interpersonal violence and suicide are major health concerns, leading to premature death, extensive human suffering and staggering monetary costs. Although violent behaviour has multiple causes, it is well known that acute substance intake and abuse increase the risks of both interpersonal and self-directed violence. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Vasodilator actions of EDHF and anandamide

    Författare :David Andersson; Avdelningen för klinisk kemi och farmakologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; vanilloid receptors; afferent neurons; anandamide; cannabinoids; potassium channels; hyperpolarization; vasodilation; Vascular endothelium; arteries; airways; Pharmacological sciences; pharmacognosy; pharmacy; toxicology; Farmakologi; farmakognosi; farmaci; toxikologi;

    Sammanfattning : Vasodilator responses to endothelium-derived hyperpolarizing factor (EDHF) and anandamide in isolated arteries were investigated. A combination of the potassium channel blockers charybdotoxin and apamin inhibits EDHF-mediated relaxations. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Distribution and function of TRP ion channels in primary sensory neurons

    Författare :Helena Sturesson; Avdelningen för klinisk kemi och farmakologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; neurofysiologi; neuropsykologi; histokemi; cytokemi; vävnadskultur; Neurology; neuropsychology; neurophysiology; Neurologi; tissue culture; histochemistry; cytochemistry; Histology; Skin; Immunohistochemistry; Cannabinoid receptor 1 CB1 ; Pain; Primary sensory neurons; TRP ion channels; Pharmacological sciences; pharmacognosy; pharmacy; toxicology; Farmakologi; farmakognosi; farmaci; toxikologi; Histologi;

    Sammanfattning : It is frequently argued that cannabinoids exert part of their analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects via activation of the cannabinoid CB1 receptor located on TRPV1-expressing primary sensory nerve fibres in peripheral tissues. However, we find no evidence of CB1 receptor immunoreactivity on nerve fibres in rat or mouse hindpaw skin and mesenteric artery. LÄS MER
