1. Towards measuring quantum sound
Sammanfattning : One of the most fundamental phenomena occurring in nature is the interaction between single atoms and electromagnetic fields. This is studied in quantum optics to probe the quantum nature of the system. In appended Paper I, we demonstrated that an artificial atom can couple to propagating sound, which is the acoustic analogue of quantum optics. LÄS MER
2. Visualization of Air Flow, Temperature and Concentration Indoors : Whole-field measuring methods and CFD
Sammanfattning : The thermal indoor climate is a complicated combination of a number of physical variables, all of which strongly affect people’s well-being. The indoor climate not only heavily affects people’s health and life quality, but also their productivity and ability to work efficiently. LÄS MER
3. The venous circulation in teleost fish -responses to exercise, temperature and hypoxia
Sammanfattning : Sandblom, Erik (2007). The venous circulation in teleost fish -Responses to exercise, temperature and hypoxia. Department of Zoology/Zoophysiology, Göteborg University, Box 463, SE-405 30 Göteborg, Sweden. In fish and other vertebrates, venous capacitance changes have important implications on venous return and cardiac filling pressure. LÄS MER
4. Flow Measuring Techniques in Steady and Pulsating Compressible Flows
Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with flow measuring techniques applied on steady and pulsatingflows. Specifically, it is focused on gas flows where density changes canbe significant, i.e. compressible flows. LÄS MER
5. Hypothermia and radiation. Effects on DNA, chromatin and cellular survival
Sammanfattning : The effect of ionising radiation on cells can be modulated by several physico-chemical factors. The aim of this study was to investigate if hypothermic (sub-physiological) temperatures (2°C-28°C) may influence the effect of X-rays on cellular damage in human normal fibroblasts and in a human breast adenocarcinoma cell line, MCF-7.
