  1. 1. Towards measuring quantum sound

    Författare :Maria Ekström; Chalmers University of Technology; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; surface acoustic wave; interdigital transducer; artificial atom; qubit; superconducting circuits; cryogenic temperature; phonon; gigahertz frequency; quantum acoustics; unidirectional transducer;

    Sammanfattning : One of the most fundamental phenomena occurring in nature is the interaction between single atoms and electromagnetic fields. This is studied in quantum optics to probe the quantum nature of the system. In appended Paper I, we demonstrated that an artificial atom can couple to propagating sound, which is the acoustic analogue of quantum optics. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Visualization of Air Flow, Temperature and Concentration Indoors : Whole-field measuring methods and CFD

    Författare :Mathias Cehlin; Mats Sandberg; Alfred Moser; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Environmental engineering; Miljöteknik; Whole-field; CFD; Visualization;

    Sammanfattning : The thermal indoor climate is a complicated combination of a number of physical variables, all of which strongly affect people’s well-being. The indoor climate not only heavily affects people’s health and life quality, but also their productivity and ability to work efficiently. LÄS MER

  3. 3. The venous circulation in teleost fish -responses to exercise, temperature and hypoxia

    Författare :Erik Sandblom; Göteborgs universitet; Göteborgs universitet; Gothenburg University; []
    Nyckelord :blood volume; catecholamines; central venous pressure; exercise; hypoxia; mean circulatory filling pressure; preload; renin-angiotensin; temperature; vascular capacitance.;

    Sammanfattning : Sandblom, Erik (2007). The venous circulation in teleost fish -Responses to exercise, temperature and hypoxia. Department of Zoology/Zoophysiology, Göteborg University, Box 463, SE-405 30 Göteborg, Sweden. In fish and other vertebrates, venous capacitance changes have important implications on venous return and cardiac filling pressure. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Flow Measuring Techniques in Steady and Pulsating Compressible Flows

    Författare :Fredrik Laurantzon; Henrik Alfredsson; Björn Lindgren; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; Flow measuring; compressible flow; steady flow; pulsating flow; hot-wire anemometry; cold-wire anemometry; Engineering mechanics; Teknisk mekanik;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with flow measuring techniques applied on steady and pulsatingflows. Specifically, it is focused on gas flows where density changes canbe significant, i.e. compressible flows. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Fire temperature development in enclosures : Some theoretical and experimental studies

    Författare :Alexandra Byström; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Stålbyggnad; Steel Structures;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis is devoted to problems connected to heat transfer and fire dynamics in enclosures. The thesis consists of a main part which summarizes and discusses the theory of heat transfer, conservation of energy and fire dynamics. Based on these theories, some cases of different fire scenarios have been analyzed. LÄS MER
