  1. 6. Wrist and thumb joint postures and motions: Measurements using electrogoniometry and EMG

    Författare :Per Jonsson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Wrist joint; Finger joint; Electromyography; Accuracy; Electrogoniometry; Input device; Information and communication technology; Mobile phone; Muscle activity; Posture; Thumb; Wrist;

    Sammanfattning : Correct measurements of the joints’ extreme postures, velocity and repetitiveness are important for studies of the origin of musculoskeletal disorders. Posture measurements of wrist and thumb joints may also provide insights into input device designs that may reduce effort and/or facilitate productivity. LÄS MER

  2. 7. Processing and Properties of Ferroelectric Ag(Ta,Nb)O3 Thin Films

    Författare :Jung-Hyuk Koh; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :Ferroelectric; Thin Film; PLD; Tunable device;

    Sammanfattning : High tunability and low loss tangent of ferroelectric thinfilms offer unique opportunity for the development of variousmicrowave devices. Silver tantalate niobate, which showsexcellent microwave properties, was selected for this study. LÄS MER

  3. 8. Biomechanical studies of finger extension function. Analysis with a new force measuring device and ultrasound examination in rheumatoid arthritis and healhty muscles

    Författare :Sofia Brorsson; Elena Gutierrez Farewik; Göteborgs universitet; []

    Sammanfattning : Aims: The overall aim of this thesis was to further our understanding of extensor muscles and their role for hand function. The aims of the studies were: To develop and evaluate a new device for finger extensor force measurements. To evaluate ultrasound as a tool for assessment of muscle architecture. LÄS MER

  4. 9. Measurements of knee rotation in vivo - Development and evaluation of an external device

    Författare :Per Otto Almquist; Människan i rörelse: hälsa och rehabilitering; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Knee; rotation; measurement; evaluation; gender; age; dislocating patella;

    Sammanfattning : The overall aim of this work was to evaluate a newly developed measurement device, the Rottometer, for measuring knee rotation in different flexion angles with different applied torques, in order to establish the normal range of healthy knee rotation reference values and to study possible differences due to age and gender, as well as possible differences between patients with habitual dislocating patella (HDP) and healthy controls. The validity of the Rottometer was evaluated by simultaneous registrations with roentgen stereometric analysis (RSA) (paper I). LÄS MER

  5. 10. On-scalp MEG using high-Tc SQUIDs: Measuring brain activity with superconducting magnetometers

    Författare :Christoph Pfeiffer; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; high-Tc SQUID; neuroimaging; magnetoencephalography; localization; on-scalp MEG; sensor array; magnetometer;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis describes work done towards realizing on-scalp magnetoencephalography (MEG) based on high critical temperature (high- T c) superconducting quantum interference device (SQUID) sensors. MEG is a non-invasive neuroimaging modality that records the magnetic fields produced by neural currents with good spatial and high temporal resolution. LÄS MER
