  1. 1. Lipid peroxidation in vivo : Evaluation and application of methods for measurement

    Författare :Eva Södergren; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Medical sciences; lipid peroxidation; hydroperoxides; F2-isoprostanes; MDA; prostaglandins; measurement; carbon tetrachloride; vitamin E; dietary fat quality; rapeseed oil; MEDICIN OCH VÅRD; MEDICINE; MEDICIN; Geriatrics; geriatrik;

    Sammanfattning : Lipid peroxidation is thought to be an important factor in the pathophysiology of a number of diseases and in the process of ageing, but its measurement in vivo has been difficult. The aim of this thesis was to evaluate methods for measurement of lipid peroxidation in vivo that are suitable for clinical investigations, and to apply these methods in animal and human studies investigating basal conditions and situations associated with increased lipid peroxidation. 2. 2. Projective methods and longitudinal developmental research : considerations of data's nature and reliability

    Författare :Harald Janson; Bertil Mårdberg; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Longitudinal studies; projective methods; reliability; temporal stability; interrater agreement; epistemology; measurement; psykologi; Psychology;

    Sammanfattning : A projective method is viewed in the present work as a psychological test, by which is understood a standardized task that is set before a person, the solution of which is used for making inferences about psychological quantities. The present research was designed to shed light on several aspects of the usefulness of projective methods in longitudinal research, particularly with regard to reliability and to the distinction between measurement and theory-free empirical-comparison data. 3. 3. On the measurement of evaporative water loss : methods and clinical applications

    Författare :Gert Nilsson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Sammanfattning : The new method for measurement of water loss by evaporation from the skin described in paper I, offers a high degree of accuracy and improved sensitivity in comparison with devices reported previously. Rapid recordings can be made by technically untrained persons both in clinical departments and in the laboratory. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis is to explore methods for assessing peer victimization and pedagogical leadership in school.The thesis includes four studies. Study I and II are based on web-based questionnaires among 2, 568 students in grades 7, 8 and 9. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Modelling and Validation of Industrial Measurement Systems - Aspects of Quality and Human Factors

    Författare :Jenny Wirandi; Avdelningen för Biomedicinsk teknik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Uncertainty Analysis; Quality Index; Instrumentation technology; Mät- och instrumenteringsteknik; Traceability; Fuzzy Variable; Pulp Quality; Industrial Measurement; Human Factor; GUM; Calibration; Fibre Measurement; Measurement Science;

    Sammanfattning : Although there is a fairly large number of books and articles concerning the validation of technical measurement systems, there are only a few which take into account the whole measurement system consisting of both technical and non-technical aspects. A measurement system comprises both the measurement process and the human being who conducts the measurement. LÄS MER
