1. Assessment of frailty in old people with multimorbidity
Sammanfattning : Background: As the population grows older, understanding and management of multimorbidity and frailty will become increasingly important. There is no consensus on how to define or measure frailty and awareness of frailty is limited in many healthcare settings. This impedes implementation of frailty assessment and management in routine care. LÄS MER
2. Intracerebral hemorrhage in patients treated with intravenous thrombolysis for acute ischemic stroke
Sammanfattning : Background. Nearly 30000 people suffer a stroke in Sweden every year. Stroke is the third most common cause of death after heart disease and cancer carrying a 17% mortality rate at three months. It is the most common cause of neurological disability in adults. LÄS MER
3. Reconstruction of flow and temperature from boundary data
Sammanfattning : In this thesis, we study Cauchy problems for elliptic and parabolic equations. These include the stationary Stokes system and the heat equation. Data are given on a part of the boundary of a bounded domain. The aim is to reconstruct the solution from these data. LÄS MER
4. An alternating iterative procedure for the Cauchy problem for the Helmholtz equation
Sammanfattning : Let be a bounded domain in Rn with a Lipschitz boundary Г divided into two parts Г0 and Г1 which do not intersect one another and have a common Lipschitz boundary. We consider the following Cauchy problem for the Helmholtz equation:where k, the wave number, is a positive real constant, аv denotes the outward normal derivative, and f and g are specified Cauchy data on Г0. 5. Boundary Layer Approximate Approximations and Cubature of Potentials in Domains
Sammanfattning : The goal of this thesis is to develop efficient numerical algorithms for approximation of functions defined on domains and apply these algorithms to obtain accurate semi-analytic cubature formulae for various integral operators. These algorithms are based on the method of "approximate approximations", introduced by V. Maz'ya in 1991. LÄS MER
