    Sammanfattning : The overall aims of this thesis were to elucidate the circulatory responses to ultra-endurance exercise (Adventure Racing), and furthermore, to contribute to the clarification of the so called “exercise-induced cardiac fatigue” in relation to said exercise.     Sammanfattning : Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) biomarkers may be used to identify and monitor pathological processes in the central nervous system. CSF biomarkers in Alzheimer’s disease (AD) include β-amyloid 42 (Aβ42), total-tau (T-tau) and phosphorylated-tau (P-tau), reflecting brain amyloid, axonal and tangle pathology, respectively. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Oxidative stress is a threat to our wellbeing. The formation of reactive oxygen species may result in oxidative lesions in DNA and RNA. When challenging A549 cells with 18O-labeled hydrogen peroxide, we found that RNA was between 14-25 times more sensitive to [18O]-8-oxoGuo formation than [18O]-8-oxodGuo formation in DNA. LÄS MER
