    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Medicine; Adrenocortical cancer; Positron Emission Tomography; Metomidate; Combination chemotherapy; Streptozocin; op -DDD; OPEC; Disease-free Interval; Survival; Responses; Side effects; Receptor protein-tyrosine kinases; c-Kit; Phospho-c-Kit; PDGFRβ; Mutation; Imatinib; Medicin; Dermatology and venerology; clinical genetics; internal medicine; Dermatologi och venerologi; klinisk genetik; invärtesmedicin;

    Sammanfattning : Adrenocortical cancer (ACC) is a rare disease that is often difficult to diagnose, and therefore often presents at an advanced stage. Various cytotoxic treatments have been tried with little success. Evaluation of new diagnostic methods and improvement of medical therapies are therefore crucial. LÄS MER

  4. 9. Contextualising a South African social innovation for maternal and child health to mothers with experiences of migration in Sweden

    Författare :Per Kåks; Mats Målqvist; Sibylle Herzig van Wees; Anna Bergström; Jenny McLeish; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Social innovation; peer support; migration; parenting; parents; children; health promotion; trust; mistrust; implementation; empowerment;

    Sammanfattning : Despite a universally accessible and high-quality welfare system, disparities in health and wellbeing persist between families who have migrated to Sweden and the native population. The South African Mentor Mother programme, a social innovation for maternal and child health among socially disadvantaged communities, was transferred and adapted to benefit mothers and pregnant women with experiences of migrating to Sweden. 5. 10. Radiolabelled Oligonucleotides for Evaluation of in vivo Hybridisation Utilising PET Methodology

    Författare :Gábor Lendvai; Mats Bergström; Sergio Estrada; Barbro Eriksson; Raymond Josephsson; Bertrand Tavitian; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Molecular medicine; Gene expression; Antisense oligonucleotides; Positron emission tomography; In vivo hybridisation; In vivo biodistribution; Chromogranin-A; 68Ga; RT-PCR; Scavenger receptors; Molekylärmedicin;

    Sammanfattning : Antisense oligonucleotides (ODN) may interfere in gene expression on the basis of hybridising to its complementary messenger RNA (mRNA) sequence in the cell thereby preventing the synthesis of the peptide. Therefore, these ODNs may be potential drugs to treat human diseases by “knocking down” the expression of responsible genes or correcting the maturation process of mRNA in the field called antisense therapy.
