  1. 21. Assessing precision and accuracy in acoustic scattering matrix measurements

    Författare :Luck Peerlings; Hans Bodén; Susann Boij; Avraham Hirschberg; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; aero-acoustics; sudden area expansion; in-duct acoustics; acoustic scattering matrix; impedance tube; uncertainty analysis; systematic errors; Vehicle and Maritime Engineering; Farkostteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Acoustic scattering matrices are used to characterize the influence of inline duct elements on the acoustic wave propagation in wave guides.When measuring the properties of these matrices, errors are always present in the results and need to be characterized to make valid statements on the correspondence between model predictions and measurements. 2. 22. The role of 1-intergrins in skeletal muscle differentiation and extracellular matrix assembly

    Författare :Lars Lohikangas; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Biochemistry; β1 Integrins; Matrix Deposition; Skeletal Muscle Cell; Biokemi; Biochemistry; Biokemi; Medical Biochemistry; medicinsk biokemi;

    Sammanfattning : Integrin subunit β1 forms heterodimeric receptors with at least 12 different α-subunits.These integrins are the main cellular receptors for extracellular matrix and they arenecessary for normal development. In this thesis, the effects of lack of integrin subunitβ1 on matrix deposition and on skeletal muscle development were studied. LÄS MER

  3. 23. Stress Effects on Solute Transport in Fractured rocks

    Författare :Zhihong Zhao; Lanru Jing; Ivars Neretnieks; Auli Niemi; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Fractured rocks; Solute transport; Stress effects; Coupled stress-flow-transport processes; Analytical solution; Particle mechanics model; Fracture surface damage; Discrete element method; Particle tracking method;

    Sammanfattning : The effect of in-situ or redistributed stress on solute transport in fractured rocks is one of the major concerns for many subsurface engineering problems. However, it remains poorly understood due to the difficulties in experiments and numerical modeling. LÄS MER

  4. 24. Toward a tissue engineered blood vessel. Cell cultivation, hemodynamic influences and matrix production

    Författare :Sepideh Heydarkhan-Hagvall; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :tissue engineered blood vessel; co-culture vascular cells; angiogenic factors; ; hemodynamic; extracellular matrix; stem cells;

    Sammanfattning : Cardiovascular diseases are the leading causes of mortality in the western world. Thereplacement or repair of diseased blood vessels with human autografts (vein or arteries) orsynthetic vascular grafts (ePTFE or Dacron) has become a routine treatment. Autologous graftsare not always available in all patients. LÄS MER

  5. 25. Influence of microstructure on debonding at the fiber/matrix interface in fiber-reinforced polymers under tensile loading

    Sammanfattning : At the end of the second decade of the XXI century, the transportation industry at large faces several challenges that will shape its evolution in the next decade and beyond. The first such challenge is the increasing public awareness and governmental action on climate change, which are increasing the pressure on the industrial sectors responsible for the greatest share of emissions, the transportation industry being one of them, to reduce their environmental footprint.
