1. Experimental and Numerical Investigation of the Quenching Process on Rotary Hollow Cylinder by Multiple Impinging Jets
Sammanfattning : The worldwide competitive market on metal products with higher quality in industry has increased the need to implement more advanced and controllable quenching techniques in the hardening stage of the heat treatment process. Moreover, sustainability and energy efficiency are key factors to consider in the development of advanced quenching techniques. LÄS MER
2. Engineering 3D degradable pliable scaffolds for adipose tissue regeneration : Advancing cell-material interactions by understanding the influence from thermal, chemical, mechanical properties and scaffold design
Sammanfattning : In soft tissue defects that arise due to trauma, tumor resections and complex burns, a significant loss in adipose tissue remains a considerable challenge due to the insufficient regenerative capacity of the tissue. This thesis focuses on assessing cell-material interactions between degradable 3D polymer scaffolds with different designs and adipose tissue-derived stem cells. LÄS MER
3. Polyester scaffold: Material design and cell-protein-material interaction
Sammanfattning : Tissue engineering has emerged as a valid approach for the regeneration and restoration of bone defects. The concept of bone tissue engineering includes degradable scaffolds, osteogenic cells and osteoinductive growth factors either alone or in any combination of these three. LÄS MER
4. Linear statistics of random matrices and log-gases
Sammanfattning : This thesis is concerned with point processes arising in Random Matrix Theory. It is a compilation thesis: it consists of an introduction and three research papers. In Paper A and Paper B, we study random matrices from the classical compact groups, namely orthogonal, unitary, and symplectic matrices distributed according to Haar measure. 5. Limit theorems for generalizations of GUE random matrices
Sammanfattning : This thesis consists of two papers devoted to the asymptotics of random matrix ensembles and measure valued stochastic processes which can be considered as generalizations of the Gaussian unitary ensemble (GUE) of Hermitian matrices H=A+A†, where the entries of A are independent identically distributed (iid) centered complex Gaussian random variables. In the first paper, a system of interacting diffusing particles on the real line is studied; special cases include the eigenvalue dynamics of matrix-valued Ornstein-Uhlenbeck processes (Dyson's Brownian motion).
