  1. 11. A new development of Nikol'skii - Lizorkin and Hardy type inequalities with applications

    Författare :Aigerim Kalybay; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Matematik; Mathematics;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis consists of an introduction and five papers, which all deal with a new Sobolev type function space called the space with multiweighted derivatives. As basis for this space serves some differential operators containing weight functions. LÄS MER

    Författare :Andreas Ryve; Kimmo Eriksson; Inger Wistedt; Anna Sfard; Mälardalens högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Didactics of Mathematics; Mathematics Education; Analytical approaches; Communication; Concept maps; Contextualization; Discourse; Engineering students; Higher Education; Intentional analysis; Methodological framworks; Problem solving; Prospective teachers; Student teachers; Teacher education; Theoretical frameworks; MATHEMATICS; MATEMATIK; Matematik tillämpad matematik;

    Sammanfattning : The driving force of conducting the two studies presented in this thesis is to examine ways that conceptual understanding and problem solving could be part of mathematics teaching, and through that, part of students' mathematical knowledge. The specific aims of the thesis are: 1) to characterize the classroom discourse of two, apparently similar, problem solving courses in teacher education and 2) to discuss the possibilities of developing two analytical approaches - the communicational approach to cognition and the dialogical approach - used for studying mathematical discourse. Sammanfattning : This thesis assembles two papers in mathematics and two papers in mathematics education. In the mathematics part, representation theory is practised. Two Clebsch-Gordan type problems are addressed. LÄS MER

  5. 15. Theory of economic development : nonlinearity, instability and non-equilibrium

    Författare :Wei-Bin Zhang; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; economic growth and development; instability; structural change; bifurcation; non-equilibrium; centralization and decentralization; business cycle; the standard neoclassical growth model; growth rate; interest rate; inflation rate; choice of techniques; endogenous technological change;

    Sammanfattning : The objective of this study is to propose an economic development theory within the framework of input-output systems and neoclassical economics. This study consists of nine chapters which are arranged in the following manner:In Chapter I, we discuss development problems, define some essential concepts, and provide a general historical sketch of economic growth theory.
