    Sammanfattning : Smoldering fires represent domestic, environmental and industrial hazards. This flameless form of combustion is more easily initiated than flaming, and is also more persistent and difficult to extinguish. The growing demand for non-fossil fuels has increased the use of solid biofuels such as biomass. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Materials exposure: The interface between materials supply and assembly

    Författare :Christian Finnsgård; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; packaging; production systems; lean production; materials supply; materials handling; Materials exposure; assembly;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis concerns the supply of components to assembly in production sys- tems, and introduces materials exposure as the interface between materials sup- ply systems and assembly systems. The purpose of the thesis is to explain how materials exposure influences the performance of materials supply systems and assembly systems. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Assembly processes and materials supply systems design

    Författare :Christian Finnsgård; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []

    Sammanfattning : Lean production has over the last decades emerged as the most important paradigm for production, with the assembly processes in focus, including the objective to minimize non-value-adding work. Thus, much attention has been on the work of the assembly operator. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Materials Handling in Production Systems: Design and Performance of Kit Preparation

    Författare :Patrik Fager; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; kitting; kit preparation; order picking; materials supply systems;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis focuses on processes for kit preparation, which are applied with the materials supply principle of kitting in production systems for mixed-model assembly. With kitting, assembly processes are supplied with portions of pre-sorted components, and each portion makes up a kit that holds the components needed for one assembly object at one or several assembly processes. 5. 5. Materials supply systems design during product development projects

    Författare :Eva Johansson; Jönköping University; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Materials supply; Systems design; Product development project; Concurrent engineering; Design process; Information management; Industrial engineering and economy; Industriell teknik och ekonomi;

    Sammanfattning : This research aims at contributing to the knowledge of how to effectively and efficiently integrate materials supply system (MSS) design at an early stage of product development projects (PDPs) and how to effectively and efficiently design the MSS in parallel with the product and the rest of the production system. The increasing interest in and importance of shortening product development times have underlined the necessity of working with overlapping activities in PDPs, i. LÄS MER
