6. Atmospheric corrosion of Mg and MgAl alloys – characterization and mechanisms
Sammanfattning : The atmospheric corrosion of Mg and MgAl alloys was investigated. Corrosion tests were performed in the laboratory under controlled environment. CP Mg, AM50 and AZ91 samples were exposed at 95% RH and 22°C in the presence and in the absence of 400 ppm CO2 for 24 h to 672 h. The passive film was characterized by means of XPS, FTIR, AES and XRD. LÄS MER
7. Remote Acoustic Characterization of Thin Sheets
Sammanfattning : There is a need to monitor the existence and effects of damage in structural materials. Aircraft components provide a much publicized example, but the need exists in a variety of other structures, such as layered materials used in food packaging industries. LÄS MER
8. Ultra-Wideband Wireless Channels - Estimation, Modeling and Material Characterization
Sammanfattning : This licentiate thesis is focused on the characterization of ultra-wideband wireless channels. The thesis presents results on ultra-wideband communications as well as on the ultra-wideband characterization of materials. The communications related work consisted in the measurement and modeling of outdoor scenarios envisioned for infostation systems. LÄS MER
9. Open-Framework Germanates and Nickel Germanates : Synthesis and Characterization
Sammanfattning : Microporous materials have a wide range of important applications in separation, gas adsorption, ion-exchange and catalysis. Open-framework germanates are a family of microporous compounds and are of particular interest. LÄS MER
10. Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs) for Heterogeneous Catalysis : Synthesis and Characterization
Sammanfattning : Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are crystalline hybrid materials with interesting chemical and physical properties. This thesis is focused on the synthesis and characterization of different MOFs and their use in heterogeneous catalysis. LÄS MER
