  1. 1. Reconfigurable Impedance Matching Networks for Radio Receivers

    Författare :Peter Sjöblom; Institutionen för elektro- och informationsteknik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Electrical engineering; Telekommunikationsteknik; Telecommunication engineering; Elektronik; Electronics; reconfigurable matching; switched capacitor; antenna tuning unit; impedance tuning unit; High frequency technology; Elektroteknik; microwaves; Högfrekvensteknik; mikrovågor;

    Sammanfattning : Mobile phones become smaller but include more advanced functions for every new generation. This paradox is possible since reduced transistor size and increased integration of digital building blocks free space for new functions. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Modeling and constructing unstructured overlay networks: Algorithms, techniques and the Smart Grid case

    Författare :Georgios Georgiadis; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; matching; smart grid; online computation; scheduling; unstructured overlays; random walks; natural computing; resistor networks; clustering;

    Sammanfattning : Throughout its lifetime, the Internet was always associated with overlay networks; from the WorldWideWeb and peer-to-peer networks to blogs and social networking solutions, overlays built on the Internet infrastructure gave it additional value and made it more engaging to everyday users. Today, rising overlay networks such as the Smart Grid as well as a multitude of sensor, mobile andwireless networks herald a new era of unprecedented connectivity and networking. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Social Networks and the School-to-Work Transition

    Författare :Dagmar Müller; Oskar Nordström Skans; Anna Sjögren; Lena Hensvik; Albrecht Glitz; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; labor economics; social networks; social contacts; job search; job matching; young workers; school-to-work transition; youth labor market entry; Economics; Nationalekonomi;

    Sammanfattning : Essay I: This paper studies the importance of market work during high school for graduates' school-to-work transition and career. Relying on Swedish linked employer-employee data, I show that such work provides students with an important job-search channel that some graduates are deprived of due to establishment closures that occur just prior to graduation and labor market entry. 4. 4. Innovation in Complex Products and Systems (CoPS) : The Coordination of Technology Development within Networks and Projects

    Författare :José Adalberto Franca; Nicolette Lakemond; Gunnar Holmberg; Per-Olof Brehmer; David W. Versailles; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Complex Product and Systems; CoPS; Networks; Projects; Technology; Technology Readiness Levels; TRL;

    Sammanfattning : Complex Product and Systems (CoPS) has been considered a cornerstone of a national innovation strategy. Telecommunications network systems, aircrafts, gas turbines and weapon systems are example of CoPS, and their management are characterized distinctly different from mass-market commodity goods. 5. 5. Radio Frequency Systems for NMR Imaging: Coil Development and Studies of Non-Thermal Biological Effects

    Författare :Lars Malmgren; Lunds universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; anechoic chamber; TEM transmission cells; FDTD; circularly polarized electromagnetic fields; reduced coupling; noise matching; matching networks; low noise amplifiers; upper thoracic spine; surface coils; Nuclear magnetic resonance; magnetic resonance imaging; non-thermal biological effects; blood-brain barrier; Electronics; Elektronik;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis concerns both design and optimization of NMR imaging systems and studies on non-thermal biological effects of electromagnetic fields. These two research fields are linked together by the fact that humans are subject to static and pulsed magnetic fields as well as to magnetic radio frequency fields (RF) during an NMR imaging investigation.
