  1. 1. Hematopoietic Serine Proteases from the Mast Cell Chymase and Tryptase Loci - a Functional and Evolutionary Analysis

    Författare :Jenny Reimer; Lars Hellman; Gunnar Nilsson; Sara Wernersson; Göran Andersson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Cell and molecular biology; immune system; mast cell; basophil; mast cell chymase locus; multigene tryptase locus; serine protease; evolution; Cell- och molekylärbiologi;

    Sammanfattning : Mast cells are key effector cells in allergic and inflammatory diseases. However, their primary role is most likely in host defence against parasitic and bacterial infections. Mast cells are a particularly rich source of serine proteases. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Cleavage Specificity of Mast Cell Chymases

    Författare :Mattias K. Andersson; Lars Hellman; Gunnar Pejler; Per Venge; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Biology; Immunology; Mast cell; Serine protease; Chymase; Cleavage specificity; Phage display; Biologi;

    Sammanfattning : Mast cells (MC) are potent inflammatory cells that are known primarily for their prominent role in IgE mediated allergies. However, they also provide beneficial functions to the host, e.g. in bacterial and parasitic defence. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Neutral proteases of rodent mast cells

    Författare :Carolina Lunderius; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Cell and molecular biology; Mast cell; serine protease; MMCP; RMCP; heparin; Cell- och molekylärbiologi; Cell and molecular biology; Cell- och molekylärbiologi; immunologi; Immunology;

    Sammanfattning : Mast cells are important effector cells in general as well as in allergic inflammation andin the defence against helminthic parasites and bacteria. Two major populations, withdifferences in tissue distribution, have been identified; connective tissue mast cells andmucosal mast cells. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Mast Cell-Mediated Orchestration of Airway Epithelial Responses in Chronic Respiratory Diseases

    Författare :Frida Berlin; Respiratorisk cellbiologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Mast cell; Tryptase; Chymase; Bronchial epithelium; Respiratory diseases;

    Sammanfattning : Chronic respiratory diseases, such as asthma, are an increasing health issue worldwide and cause about 3.9 million deaths annually. Despite this, little is know about the molecular mechanisms underpinning disease pathogenesis. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Sculpted through Time : Evolution and Function of Serine Proteases from the Mast Cell Chymase Locus

    Författare :Maike Gallwitz; Lars Hellman; Lars Pilström; Urban Gullberg; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Immunology; immune system; mast cell; chymase locus; serine protease; evolution; gene duplication; Immunologi;

    Sammanfattning : Immune cells like NK cells, T cells, neutrophils and mast cells store high amounts of granule serine proteases, graspases. Graspases are encoded from the mast cell chymase locus. The human locus holds four genes: α-chymase, cathepsin G, and granzymes H and B. In contrast, the mouse locus contains at least 14 genes. LÄS MER
