1. A search for solar dark matter with the IceCube neutrino telescope
Sammanfattning : Dark matter particles in the form of supersymmetric Weakly Interacting Massive Particles (WIMPs) could accumulate in the centre of the Sun because of gravitational trapping. Pair-wise annihilations of WIMPs could create standard model particles out of which neutrinos could reach the Earth. LÄS MER
2. Theoretical and Phenomenological Studies of Neutrino Physics
Sammanfattning : This thesis is devoted to the theory and phenomenology of neutrino physics. While the standard model of particle physics has been extremely successful, it fails to account for massive neutrinos, which are necessary to describe the observations of neutrino oscillations made by several different experiments. 3. Weigh them all! : Cosmological searches for the neutrino mass scale and mass ordering
Sammanfattning : The elusive neutrinos are among the most intriguing constituents of the particle zoo. The observation of neutrino flavour oscillations, indicating that neutrinos are massive, provides the only direct evidence for physics beyond the Standard Model. LÄS MER
4. Searches for Dark Matter with IceCube and DeepCore : New constraints on theories predicting dark matter particles
Sammanfattning : The cubic-kilometer sized IceCube neutrino observatory, constructed in the glacial ice at the South Pole, searches indirectly for dark matter via neutrinos from dark matter self-annihilations. It has a high discovery potential through striking signatures. LÄS MER
5. Some Aspects of Chirality: fermion masses and chiral p-forms
Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with different types of chiral fields. The properties of fermion masses are investigated from different poits of view, both within the Standard Model and in extensions of the model. It is shown how mass matrix invariants are used to define the measurables of the quark mixing matrix as invariant functions of the mass matrices. LÄS MER
