  1. 6. Is the medium the message? : The impact of digital media on the newspaper concept

    Författare :Sara Leckner; Marko Turpeinen; Saara Taalas; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Newspaper publishing; newspaper industry; strategy; convergence; new media; digital media; electronic media; display technology; media technology; presentation-style; user interface; newspaper layout; reading behaviour; perception; newspaper consumption; consumer needs; Media and communication studies; Medie- och kommunikationsvetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : The impact of digital (new) media has caused both challenges and threats to newspapers’ continuing existence as a profitable and influential mass medium. While this is not the first time in history that new media appear to be challenging the future of the newspaper medium, from one perspective digital media offer not only direct competition, or alternative ways to produce and deliver news, but also possibilities for convergence, for making new media part of the traditional newspaper, inducing whole new possibilities for publishing. 2. 7. Overcoming the Mass Transport Limitations of Dye-Sensitised Solar Cells : Towards highly efficient and robust alternative redox mediator electrolyte DSSCs

    Författare :Roger Jiang; Gerrit Boschloo; Erik Johansson; Anders Hagfeldt; Frédéric Sauvage; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Dye-sensitised solar cell; dye-sensitized solar cell; photoelectrochemical cell; cobalt tris bipyridine ; mass transport; photocurrent transients;

    Sammanfattning : Dye-sensitised solar cells (DSSCs) have been subject to decadelong research interest, and may have some potential niche market applications. Recently, major advances in power conversion efficiencies have been achieved following the transition to cobalt polypyridine based redox mediators. LÄS MER

  3. 8. Diffusion of Water in Foods during Heating

    Författare :Karin Thorvaldsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; diffusion; mass transfer; mass transport; porous; water; moisture; heat; food;

    Sammanfattning : The overall aim of this research was to improve the knowledge of diffusion of water in foods during heating, so that the final quality of foods after heat processing could be predicted and controlled. The work consisted of three main parts. The first part involved the development of a method to study the diffusion. LÄS MER

  4. 9. Lyckolandet : Maktens legitimering i officiell retorik från stormaktstid till demokratins genombrott

    Författare :Joachim Östlund; Historia; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Humaniora; Humanities; State; Citizen; Brother; Subject; Fatherland; People; Religion; Community; Ethnicity; Nationalism; Nation; Moral order; Social imaginaries; Rhetoric; Mass medium; Public announcements; Political history; Politisk historia;

    Sammanfattning : This study deals with questions about norm building and arguments for community in official royal rhetoric in the Swedish realm from 1660 to 1919. Every year, an intercession day proclamation issued by the King in Council (Kungl. Maj:ts böndagsplakat) was read out from pulpits across Sweden. LÄS MER

  5. 10. Modelling of Mass and Heat Transport in Paper - Evaluation of Mechanisms and Shrinkage

    Författare :Erik Baggerud; Avdelningen för kemiteknik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; solid-based coordinates; paper; porous medium; convection; diffusion; volume fractions; mercury displacement; shrinkage; simulations; convective; hot surface; Modelling; drying; Wood; pulp and paper technology; Pappers- och massateknik;

    Sammanfattning : In this work a one-dimensional model for the mass and heat transport in the thickness direction of paper has been developed. Solid-based coordinates were applied to simplify incorporation of shrinkage. Liquid diffusion, gas convection and vapour and air diffusion were incorporated as mass transport mechansims. LÄS MER
