Sammanfattning :
Hydropower is the main source of electricity production in Iceland. In 2005, 80.8% of all electricity was generated by hydropower (7015 GWh). Hydropower production is affected both by variations and changes in discharge. LÄS MER

Sammanfattning :
A new palaeoenvironmental record of the post-glacial history of the southern Baltic Sea (~14 ka to present) is presented. During this period, large water level and salinity changes occurred in the Baltic Basin due to opening and closing of connections to the North Atlantic. LÄS MER

Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Sedimentologi; Sedimentology; Geologi; physical geography; Geology; glaciotectonic; thrust stacking; deforming bed; ribbed moraine; Niemisel moraine; De Geer moraine; isostatic uplift; glaciodynamics; deglaciation; klimatologi; kartografi; marklära; Fysisk geografi; geomorfologi; geomorphology; cartography; climatology; pedology;
Sammanfattning :
The aim of this thesis was to reconstruct the glaciodynamics, deglacial landforms, isostatic uplift and to date the deglaciation. Glaciodynamics and deglacial landforms were focused on to provide a process and depositional model for De Geer moraine and Niemisel moraine and to reveal their internal and spatial relationship, based on detailed sedimentological and structural investigations.
