1. Three-dimensional analysis of aeromagnetic and gravimetric data of sedimentary basins from Panama, Central America
Sammanfattning : The knowledge of the geology of the sedimentary basins from the Gulf of Panama is still quite limited. There is a lack of data from the basin geometry, the thickness, the continuity and connection between the basins, and from the characteristics of the crystalline basement rocks beneath the sedimentary basins. 2. Mapping and characterisation of Swedish bedrock by DC resistivity and transient-field electromagnetic measurement
Sammanfattning : DC electrical and electromagnetic methods have been used for a long time to detect and characterise fracture zones in site investigations and other engineering projects. However, the methods have not been used very much in basic geological mapping of crystalline rock on a regional to semi-regional scale. LÄS MER
3. An integrated study of geological, magnetic and electromagnetic data for mineral exploration in the Jameson Land Basin, central East Greenland
Sammanfattning : The Jameson Land Basin, located in central East Greenland, initiated in Devonian time with the collapse of the over-thickened Caledonian Orogen. The basin developed during different phases of rifting from the late Paleozoic to the Mesozoic and has accumulated between 16-18 km of sediments. LÄS MER
4. A geophysical investigation of carbonate build-ups in the Baltic Basin using reflection seismic and well data
Sammanfattning : During the Late Ordovician, the region around Gotland was part of a shallow epicratonic basin in the southern subtropics. Low latitudes, relatively warm sea temperatures and the presence of a shallow marine environment promoted algae to flourish and diverse carbonate build-ups such as carbonate mounds and reefs developed on the southern margin of Baltica. 5. Multidisciplinary Near-Surface Investigation of a Quick-Clay Landslide Prone Area in Southwest Sweden
Sammanfattning : Quick-clay landslides are considered one of the most important geohazards in Sweden, Norway, and Canada. The deposits involved are glacial and postglacial clays and silty clays, which are very sensitive to increased stress that may collapse their structure and cause liquefaction. LÄS MER
