1. Array-based Autoantibody Profiling and Epitope Mapping
Sammanfattning : Antibodies are a class of proteins that are made by the immune system to recognize harmful organisms and molecules. Their exceptional capability of specifically recognizing molecules has been investigated for over a century and information thereof has been utilized for a variety of applications including vaccine and generation of therapeutic antibodies. 2. Hopf and Frobenius algebras in conformal field theory
Sammanfattning : There are several reasons to be interested in conformal field theories in two dimensions. Apart from arising in various physical applications, ranging from statistical mechanics to string theory, conformal field theory is a class of quantum field theories that is interesting on its own. First of all there is a large amount of symmetries. LÄS MER
3. Mapping of the specificity in MHC class I recognition by natural killer cells
Sammanfattning : Natural killer (NK) cells represent the third major lymphocyte subpopulation. They are distinguishable from B and T lymphocytes by their surface phenotype, cytokine profile and the ability to mediate spontaneous cytotoxicity, without prior sensitization, against certain tumor cells and virally infected cells. 4. Stable invariants of some topological moduli spaces
Sammanfattning : This thesis consists of three papers, treating stability phenomena in various automorphism groups in topology. In Papers I and III, we study the group (co)homology of certain mapping class groups of surfaces and graphs, or their respective Torelli subgroups, while the subject of Paper II is homotopy automorphisms of higher-dimensional spaces and manifolds. 5. Klassriket : Socialgruppsindelningen som skillnadsteknologi under 1900-talet
Sammanfattning : During the 20th century, a number of actors and institutions set out to develop taxonomies of the Swedish population. This thesis examines the most important social classification system, the social group, which despite its great importance in administrative, scientific, commercial, political and media contexts has received little attention in historical research.
