    Sammanfattning : The chemistry of mineral surfaces is of great importance in many different areas including natural processes occurring in oceans, rivers, lakes and soils. Manganese (hydr)oxides are one important group to these natural processes, and the thermodynamically most stable trivalent manganese (hydr)oxide, manganit (γ-MnOOH), is studied in this thesis.     Sammanfattning : Chemical-Looping Combustion is a promising method for combustion with inherent carbon dioxide capture. Oxygen is provided to the fuel with a solid oxygen carrier. The oxygen carrier is circulated between the reactor for fuel oxidation and another reactor where it is reoxidized with air. A good performing oxygen carrier is vital for this process. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : This thesis presents studies on magnetic bicrystal junctions. In these, films on either side of the junction are structurally and magnetically misoriented. This type of device enables us to study junction magnetoresistance and spin polarized charge transport between ferromagnets with well defined directions of magnetization. LÄS MER
