  1. 1. Recovery of iron and manganese values from metallurgical slags by the oxidation route

    Författare :Anna Semykina; Seshadri Seetharaman; Gabriella Tranell; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; oxidation; metallurgical slag; recycling; FeO; iron recovery; manganese recovery; manganese ferrite; nano-ferrites; oxidation process; TTT; crystallization; kinetics studies; thermodynamic studies; modelling; cold-model studies; electromagnetic buoyancy force; Metallurgical process engineering; Metallurgisk processteknik; Metallurgical process and manufacturing engineering; Metallurgisk process- och produktionsteknik; Materials science; Teknisk materialvetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : In the modern practice, a sustainable development strategy in a domain of wasteutilization is shifting its focus from a general completeness of recycling to a morespecific attention to efficiently utilize elements in the wastes. This is well-illustrated bythe steelmaking slag industries. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Effect of Microstructure on Mechanical Properties of High Strength Steel Weld Metalsn

    Författare :Enda Keehan; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; strength; bainite; carbon; TEM; dilatometry; microstructure; impact toughness; neural network modelling; martensite; manganese; FEGSEM; nickel;

    Sammanfattning : The effects of variations in alloying content on the microstructure and mechanical properties of high strength steel weld metals have been studied. Based on neural network modelling, weld metals were produced using shielded metal arc welding with nickel at 7 or 9 wt. %, manganese at 2 or 0.5 wt. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Investigation of electrical and magnetic properties of nanoparticles and nanofibers with the aim to tailor material properties of nanocomposites

    Författare :Anna Jänis; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; microscopy; ferrite; SiC; nanocomposite; nanowire; microwave absorbing properties; network analyzer; nanoparticle;

    Sammanfattning : Nanocomposites are the subject of interest in this study which can be explained by the factum that using building blocks with dimensions in the nanosize range makes it possible to design and create new materials which can satisfy several functions at the same time for many applications. The applications of interest in this study belong to the microwave frequency region and for that reason a number of materials were investigated to define their microwave absorbing properties. 4. 4. Microstructure and properties of welds in the lean duplex stainless steel LDX 2101

    Författare :Elin M. Westin; John Ågren; Hannu Hänninen; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Duplex stainless steel; welding; HAZ; nitrogen; manganese; microstructure; austenite formation; phase balance; precipitates; element distribution; segregation; depletion; solidification; pitting corrosion resistance; solidification; element loss; evaporation; deposition; weld oxide; thermo-mechanical simulation; thermodynamic modelling; EPMA; XPS; post-weld cleaning; pickling; Metallurgical process and manufacturing engineering; Metallurgisk process- och produktionsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Duplex stainless steels can be very attractive alternatives to austenitic grades due to their almost double strength at equal pitting corrosion resistance. When welding, the duplex alloys normally require addition of filler metal, while the commodity austenitic grades can often be welded autogenously. LÄS MER

  5. 5. On the mechanisms of structure formation in nodular cast iron

    Författare :Magnus Wessén; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : The mechanisms of structure formation in nodular cast ironhave been examined by experiments and by physical modelling. Byincorporation of models for nucleation and growth for allrelevant phases into a heat flow calculation. it is possible topredict the as-cast structure by computer simulation. LÄS MER
