16. Processing of Nanostructured WC-Co Powders and Sintered Steels
Sammanfattning : Processing of nanostructured WC-Co and W-Co powders, modelling of Fe-Mn-Si alloy, swelling of Fe-Cu alloy, andmechanical properties and sintering of Fe-Mn-Si steels havebeen studied in the present thesis.W-Co precursors made by chemical synthesis were used toproduce nanostructured WCCo and W-Co powders by calcination, reduction and carburization. 17. Coated Ferritic Stainless Steels as Interconnects in Solid Oxide Fuel Cells - Material Development and Electrical Properties
Sammanfattning : Solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) are attracting increasing interest as devices with potentialuses in decentralized and clean electricity and heat production. Several challengeswith respect to materials have to be overcome to achieve efficiencies and life-spansthat are sufficient for long-term applications. LÄS MER
18. Stainless Steel in Biological Environments – Relation between Material Characteristics, Surface Chemistry and Toxicity
Sammanfattning : Triggered by the regulatory need of the industry to demonstrate safe use of their alloy products from an environmental and health perspective, and by the significant lack of metal release data and its correlation to material and surface characteristics for iron- and chromium-based alloys, a highly interdisciplinary in-depth research effort was undertaken to assess the relation between material/surface characteristics and toxicity with main emphasis on stainless steel alloys. This thesis focuses predominantly on studies made on AISI 316L both as massive sheet and as powder particles, but includes also results for other stainless steel grades and reference metals and metal oxides. 19. Defects in Austenitic Steels and Hard Metals - A DFT-based Study
Sammanfattning : Materials are never 100% pure due to the limitation of purification method or manufacturing process. Nor are they perfect, especially under deformation. The present work aims to explore different roles played by the defects in austenitic steels and hard metals. LÄS MER
20. Stacking faults, deformation-induced martensite and micromechanics of metastable austenite in steels studied by high-energy synchrotron X-ray diffraction
Sammanfattning : Austenitic stainless steels are known for their remarkable corrosion resistance and exhibit a very high ductility and toughness. They posses the face centered cubic crystal structure. LÄS MER
