1. Computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging and positron emission tomography in non-Hodgkin's lymphoma
Sammanfattning : Certain aspects of the use of computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and positron emission tomography (PET) were evaluated in patients with non-Hodgkin'slymphoma (NHL) with the aim of improving the management of these patients.Subjective evaluation of the tumor pattern on CT images, and quantification of tracer uptake using 11C methionine (11C Met) and [18F] fluorodeoxyglucose (18FDG) PET in patients with NHL, were performed to determine their relations to malignancy grade. 2. Applications of diffusion MRI: Tensor-valued encoding, time-dependent diffusion, and histological validation
Sammanfattning : Diffusion MRI (dMRI) sensitizes the MR signal to the diffusion of water molecules at the microscopic level and thereby non-invasively probes tissue microstructure. This is relevant when determining biological properties of tissues, for example, cancer type and its malignancy. LÄS MER
3. Modeling and investigations of high-grade glioma to understand tumorigenesis and heterogeneity
Sammanfattning : Glioblastoma (GBM) is the most common primary malignant brain tumor. As per 2021 WHO classification, the corresponding diagnosis in children is called diffuse pediatric-type high-grade glioma (pHGG). In both cases tumors are histone 3 (H3) and isocitrate dehydrogenase 1/2 (IDH1/2) wildtype (wt). LÄS MER
4. Endoscopic methods for detecting malignancy in patients with ulcerative colitis and primary sclerosing cholangitis
Sammanfattning : Ulcerative colitis (UC) is a chronic ulcerative inflammatory bowel disease affecting the mucosa of the large intestine. UC patients have an increased risk for the development of colorectal cancer mainly associated with long duration and extensive involvement of the colitis. LÄS MER
5. Suggested next steps to prevent cervical cancer after surgical treatment for high-grade cervical dysplasia
Sammanfattning : The risk of cervical cancer among women treated for high-grade cervical dysplasia is more than twofold compared with the general population, and this risk remains elevated for over two decades. In Sweden, cervical cancer incidence is rising again and the risk of cervical cancer among women with a prior history of high-grade cervical dysplasia has increased since the 1960s. LÄS MER
