6. Computational Studies of Macrocycles and Molecular Modeling of Hepatitis C Virus NS3 Protease Inhibitors
Sammanfattning : Computational tools are utilized in the drug discovery process to discover, design, and optimize new therapeutics. One important approach is structure-based drug design which relies on knowledge about the 3D structure of the biological target. LÄS MER
7. Bicyclo[3.3.1]nonane-2,6-dione and its utilization as a core building block in supramolecular architectures
Sammanfattning : In this work, the structural framework of bicyclo[3.3.1]nonane has been utilized as a core building block in the synthesis of novel supramolecular architectures. The solid state of variously functionalized derivatives of this bicyclic compound has also been addressed from a supramolecular point of view. LÄS MER
8. Porphyrin-Based Donor-Bridge-Acceptor Systems: Intrinsic Excited State Deactivation and Intramolecular Energy/Electron Transfer Reactions
Sammanfattning : Intramolecular energy and electron transfer reactions have been studied between porphyrin donor and acceptor moieties. The porphyrin units are covalently linked together by one of three different bridging chromophores to constitute the series of D-B-A systems. LÄS MER
9. Macrocyclic Carbohydrate/Amino Acid Hybrid Molecules - Synthesis and Evaluation as Artificial Receptors
Sammanfattning : Methods were developed for the synthesis of three different types of macrocyclic carbohydrate/amino acid hybrid molecules. In the synthesis of the first type of macrocycles, a glucosamine derivative was oxidized at C6 and the obtained sugar amino acid was coupled to tripeptides. LÄS MER
10. Novel electrode and photoelectrode materials for hydrogen production based on molecular catalysts
Sammanfattning : The PhD project focussed on the application of a cobalt tetraazamacrocyclic complex, in the literature commonly referred to as [Co(CR)Cl2]+ as a molecular catalyst for the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). This was within the broader scope of the EU MSCA H2020 ITN ‘eSCALED’ project, which primarily aimed to create artificial leaf devices for the storage of solar energy in chemical fuels and, as part of this, sought the development of novel bio-inspired and scalable materials.
