1. Adaptive Evolution of the Bacterial Translation Machinery
Sammanfattning : The process of protein synthesis via translation is of paramount importance for the existence of life on Earth. The bacterial translation machinery has embraced more than 3.5 billion years of molecular evolution to adapt and function efficiently under the provided physiological conditions. LÄS MER
2. Vision-based Human Detection from Mobile Machinery in Industrial Environments
Sammanfattning : The problem addressed in this thesis is the detection, localisation and tracking of human workers from mobile industrial machinery using a customised vision system developed at Örebro University. Coined the RefleX Vision System, its hardware configuration and computer vision algorithms were specifically designed for real-world industrial scenarios where workers are required to wear protective high-visibility garments with retro-reflective markers. 3. Machinery diagnostic techniques for maintenance optimization
Sammanfattning : One of the future challenges of machinery diagnostics and prognosticsis to prepare for the Internet of Things (IoT), where it is possible to change and improve existing approaches drastically. An intensifying application of the IoT will increase the use of embedded sensors and, therefore, create a demand for diagnostic tools where manual workis minimized and is mainly handled by smart algorithms. 4. The enzymatic machinery of leukotriene biosynthesis : Studies on ontogenic expression, interactions and function
Sammanfattning : Leukotrienes (LTs) are biologically active arachidonic acid (AA) derivatives generated by the 5-lipoxygenase (5-LO) pathway. They are produced by myeloid cells. 5-LO converts AA to LTA4 in cooperation with 5-LO activating protein (FLAP). LTA4 is converted to LTB4, by LTA4-hydrolase (LTA4H) or to LTC4 by LTC4-synthase (LTC4S). LÄS MER
5. Condition Monitoring in Mobile Mining Machinery
Sammanfattning : The global mining industry is currently facing a huge transition from manually operated individual vehicles, to autonomous vehicles being part of an industrial process-like environment. The change is driven by the never ending need for efficient, safe, and environmentally friendly operations. LÄS MER
