1. Mental adjustment and Health-related: Quality of Life In laryngeal cancer patients Quantitative and Qualitative approaches
Sammanfattning : The overall aim of this thesis was to investigate mental adjustment and HRQL in patients treated for laryngeal cancer. Specific aims were to evaluate if either VAS or Likert response options was more suitable when assessing self-ratings of voice and speech; to investigate the sensitivity to change of the Swedish Self Evaluation of Communication Experiences after Laryngeal Cancer questionnaire (the S-SECEL); to investigate the relation between mental adjustment to cancer and HRQL, mood disorder and survival and to evaluate the content validity of the Swedish version of the Mini-MAC Scale. 2. On Adjacent Channel Interference-Aware Radio Resource Management for Vehicle-to-Vehicle Communication
Sammanfattning : Safety applications play an essential role in supporting traffic safety and efficiency in next generation vehicular networks. Typical safety applications require vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communication with high reliability and low latency. LÄS MER
3. Optical Interconnects for Next Generation Data Centers : Architecture Design and Resource Allocation
Sammanfattning : The current data center architectures based on blade servers and elec- tronic packet switches face several problems, e.g., limited resource utilization, high power consumption and cost, when handling the rapidly growing of data traffic. LÄS MER
4. Extracellular matrix mimetic multi-functional scaffolds for tissue engineering and biomedical applications
Sammanfattning : Regeneration of functional tissues or complex organs via the combination of viable cells, biomimetic scaffolds, morphogenic factors, and external biophysical cues are the principle aims of Tissue Engineering (TE). TE relies on the use of artificial 3D scaffolds that can mimic the microenvironment of native tissue to harness the regenerative potential of cells. LÄS MER
