  1. 16. Measuring occupational dust exposure with a passive sampler

    Författare :Mariam Shirdel; Ingvar Bergdahl; Britt Andersson; Håkan Wingfors; Christer Johansson; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; dust particles; mineral; PM10; PM2.5; respirable fraction; UNC passive aerosol sampler; working environment;

    Sammanfattning : Objectives: In a working environment it is important to measure dust exposure to evaluate possible health issues. Passive sampling could be an alternative to active sampling with pumps when measuring occupational dust exposure. One passive sampler is the University of North Carolina passive aerosol sampler (UNC sampler). LÄS MER

  2. 17. Hydrobatics: Real-time Control, Simulation and Learning for Underactuated AUVs in Agile Maneuvers

    Författare :Sriharsha Bhat; Ivan Stenius; Dimos V. Dimarogonas; Massimo Caccia; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; utonomous Underwater Vehicles; Underactuated Systems; Model Predictive Control; Hybrid Systems; Simulation; System Identification; Adaptive Sampling; Cyber-physical Systems.; Autonoma Undervattensfarkoster AUV ; Modellering; Simulering; Modelprediktiv kontroll MPC ; Systemidentifiering; Adaptiv mätning; Fältförsök; Cyber-fysikaliska System CPS .; Farkostteknik; Vehicle and Maritime Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : The term hydrobatics refers to the agile maneuvering of underwater vehicles. Underwater robots such as autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) and remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) are either designed as flight style, optimized for range and speed, or hover style, optimized for precise maneuverability.     Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Cell culture monitoring; Lab-on-a-chip; Low temperature co-fired ceramic LTCC ; Microwave sensor; Interdigitated electrode IDE ; Complementary split ring resonator CSRR ; Dielectric properties; Health monitoring; Soluviljelmä monitorointi; Lab-on-a-chip; Matalan lämpötilan yhteissintrautuva keraami LTCC ; Mikroaaltoanturi; Interdigitated electrode IDE ; Complementary split ring resonator CSRR ; Dielektriset ominaisuudet; Terveys monitorointi; Övervakning av cellodling; Lab-on-a-chip; Låg temperatur keramik LTCC ; Mikrovågssensor; Interdigitated electrode IDE ; Complementary split ring resonator CSRR ; Dielektrisk mätning; Hälsoövervakning; Mikrovågssensor;

    Sammanfattning : In this research new RF/microwave-based sensor solutions were developed for the monitoring of biological cells and human beings to obtain a better understanding of their activity or state in a quick, cheap, easy and continuous way. The effect of different substances on cell behaviour can be monitored by measuring the electrical environment where changes are observed as cells react to a stimulus. LÄS MER

  5. 20. Conceptualizing and Measuring Well-Being Using Statistical Semantics and Numerical Rating Scales

    Författare :Oscar Kjell; Institutionen för psykologi; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Well-being; Latent semantic analysis; Statistical semantics; Satisfaction with life; Harmony in life; Välbefinnande; Harmoni i livet; Tillfredsställelse med livet; Statistisk semantik; Latent semantisk analys;

    Sammanfattning : How to define and measure individuals’ well-being is important, as this has an impact on both research and society at large. This thesis concerns how to define and measure the self-reported well-being of individuals, which involves both theorizing as well as developing and applying empirical and statistical methods in order to gain a better understanding of well-being.
