  1. 1. Murine B lymphocyte growth regulation : a study of host defence factors and their mimicry by Mycoplasma arginini

    Författare :Erik Ruuth; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; B lymphocyte; growth; lymphokine; lymphokine-like; host-parasite; M. arginini; membrane acyl protein;

    Sammanfattning : Immune responses are the result of extended clonal growth and maturation of specific precursors preexisting in low frequencies. Clonal expansion is partly controlled by soluble factors, thus, their identification is essential for the understanding of the immune response regulation. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Inhibition of neutrophil migration in chronic lymphocytic leukaemia : identification and characterization of a new lymphokine

  4. 4. Inhibition of apoptosis by the Us3 protein kinase of herpes simplex virus 1

    Författare :Anna Cartier; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :Us3; unique short 3; HSV; herpes simplex virus; NK; natural killer; LAK; lymphokine activated killer; MHC; major histocompatibility complex;

    Sammanfattning : The Herpes Simplex Virus 1 (HSV-1) US3 protein kinase is part of the anti-apoptotic arsenal that salvage HSV-1-infected cells from damage caused by different stimuli. The Us3 gene encodes a protein kinase that phosphorylates serine/threonine residues within a specific arginine-rich consensus sequence. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Immunomodulation by intravenous immunoglobulin : the effect on cytokine production studied at the single-cell level

    Författare :Ulrika Skansén-Saphir; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Preparations of pooled human immunoglobulin for intravenous use (IVIg) have an established therapeutic role in immunodeficiencies, Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura and Kawasaki's disease and has been attempted in other immunologically mediated conditions including autoimmunity, malignancies, bone marrow transplantation and serious infections such as group A streptococcal toxic shock syndrome. The effects of IVIg on cytokine synthesis in peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) was studied in vitro by applying a new immunohistochemical method for detection of cytokine production at a single cell level.
