  1. 1. Low-temperature District Heating : Various Aspects of Fourth-generation Systems

    Författare :Helge Averfalk; Sven Werner; Brian Elmegaard; Högskolan i Halmstad; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; District heating; low temperature; three-pipe systems; 4GDH-3P; District heating; low temperature; three-pipe systems; 4GDH-3P;

    Sammanfattning : With decreasing heat demand and less availability of high-temperature heat supply in future energy systems, the current district heating systems may experience increased competition on the heat market. A viable option to mitigate increasing competition is to operate systems with lower temperature levels, and the most conceivable way to achieve lower temperature levels is to decrease return temperatures. Författare :Adnan Ploskic; Sture Holmberg; Bjarne Olesen; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Analytical and numerical modeling; baseboard skirting heating; building energy performance; computational fluid dynamics CFD ; heat transfer; low-temperature heating; space heating; thermal comfort; Järnvägsgruppen - Effektiva tågsystem för godstrafik; Järnvägsgruppen - Effektiva tågsystem för godstrafik;

    Sammanfattning : The European Union is planning to greatly decrease energy consumption during the coming decades. The ultimate goal is to create sustainable communities that are energy neutral. One way of achieving this challenging goal may be to use efficient hydronic (water-based) heating systems supported by heat pumps. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Low-temperature Heating in Existing Swedish Residential Buildings : Toward Sustainable Retrofitting

    Författare :Qian Wang; Sture Holmberg; Natasa Nord; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Retrofitting; Low-temperature heating; Energy efficiency; Sustainability; Swedish residential buildings; Renovering; Lågtemperatursuppvärmning; Energieffektivitet; Hållbarhet; Svenska bostadsbyggnader; Energy Technology; Energiteknik;

    Sammanfattning : As an energy-efficient alternative in cold climate countries such as Sweden, low-temperature heating (LTH) technology has shown promising advantages and shortcuts to contribute to the efficiency of heat supply, as well as to the overall sustainability of building performance. The goal of this thesis is to contribute to the development of methodologies and modeling tools to support sustainable retrofitting in the Swedish housing stock. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Hydronic Heating Systems The Effect of Design on System Sensitivity

    Författare :Anders Trüschel; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; shunt group; controllability; district heating; room temperature; air heater; heating coil; thermal power output; deviations; water return temperature; valve group; hydronic heating; radiator system; P-band;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis starts from the recognition that a hydronic heating system can be optimised, but can never be totally perfect. Sooner or later, in practice, deviations - caused by one or more components having slightly different characteristics or settings than they are assumed or supposed to have - arise. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Low-Temperature Baseboard Heaters in Built Environments

    Författare :Adnan Ploskic; Sture Holmberg; Joachim Claesson; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Baseboard skirting heating; Low-temperature heating; Thermal comfort; Heat transfer; CFD; Chemical engineering; Kemiteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The European Union has adopted a plan to decrease 20 % of total energy consumption through improved energy efficiency by 2020. One way of achieving this challenging goal may be to use efficient water-based heating systems supplied by heat pumps or othersustainable systems. LÄS MER
