1. Predicting the Long-Term Insulation Performance of District Heating Pipes
Sammanfattning : The aim of the studies that comprise this thesis was to predict the heat loss over timefrom a range of district heating pipes insulated with closed-cells foam. The thermalconductivity of the foam changes over time when it is not diffusion-tight encapsulatedagainst the environment, as diffusion alters the cell gas composition until it reachesequilibrium with the surrounding air. 2. Dynamics of biological membranes and associated water
Sammanfattning : An ingenious assembly of biomolecules and water constitute what we call biological tissue. The presence of water in this assembly is fundamental for the physiological processes and can make the difference between life and death. LÄS MER
3. Bound by long-range interactions: Molecular crystals and benzene on Cu(111)
Sammanfattning : This thesis investigates molecular systems bound by long-range interactions. Westudy molecular crystals held together by van der Waals forces and the physisorption of benzene (Bz) on Cu(111). LÄS MER
4. Spectra and Dynamics of Excitations in Long-Range Correlated Structures
5. Dynamical properties of metal halide and oxyhydride perovskites
Sammanfattning : This thesis concerns investigations on the dynamical properties of two classes of energy-relevant materials, namely metal halide and oxyhydride perovskites, using neutron scattering techniques. These two classes of materials share the same aspect of a perovskite-type crystal structure but are different in terms of their functional properties and concomitant promise for various technological applications.
