Sammanfattning : This study discusses the articulation of a form of ecological thought grounded in a postnatural aesthetics in twenty-first century long poems from Latin America. I argue that the relationship between poetry and ecology, as analyzed in Latin American ecopoetry, and particularly in the long poem of the 70s and 80s, needs to be supplemented with a postnatural framework, in order to theorize the articulations of ‛the living’ ‒assemblages between human and more-than-human worlds‒ in the contemporary long poem. Dealing with the threat of nuclear disaster as well as the risk of chemical contamination, this poem has often been quoted as a precursor to the wave of ecopoetry in the Scandinavian literature of the 2010s. Sammanfattning : The aim of the dissertation is to discuss Gunnar Ekelöf's ways of approaching tradition, his resulting siding with the values of originality, and in what manner these related issues determine the development of his oeuvre. As a point of departure for this consideration, his unsettled identity as a Modernist poet is examined, as representing a strain in Modernism that manifests an ongoing transformative interrelationship with Romanticism and its ideals of originality. Sammanfattning : Twenty years after Vassar College welcomed the first American female undergraduates in 1865, the experiences of women college students began to be fictionalized in so-called college stories. This thesis shows how higher education is presented in the novels, collections of short stories, and serialized stories for female readers published before the United States was involved in the First World War.
