  1. 1. Local Polynomial Regression with Application on Lidar Measurements

    Författare :Torgny Lindström; Lund University.; Lunds universitet.; [2004]
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Mathematics; Matematik; differential equations; Funktioner; differentialekvationer; variance-function estimation.; spatial dependence; nonparametric; local polynomial regression; local bandwidth selection; lidar; heteroscedasticity; Bivariate estimation; differential absorption; Functions;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with the problem of estimating a function or one of its derivatives from a set of measurements, mainly of a bivariate or spatial nature which is so common in environmental applications. In this work particular attention has been on the lidar (light detection and ranging) application which is a versatile technique for measurement of among other things atmospheric trace gases. 2. 2. Two Aspects of Automating Logics of Action and Change : Regression and Tractability

    Detta är en avhandling från Linköping : Linköpings universitet

    Författare :Marcus Bjäreland; Linköpings universitet.; Linköpings universitet.; [1998]
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Sammanfattning : The autonomy of an artificial agent (e.g. a robot) will certainly depend on its ability to perform "intelligent" tasks, such as learning, planning, and reasoning about its own actions and their effects on the enviroment, for example predicting the consequences of its own behaviour. 3. 3. Essays on the Evaluation of Public Policies

    Detta är en avhandling från Uppsala : Nationalekonomiska institutionen

    Författare :Michihito Ando; Uppsala universitet.; [2015]
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Local income growth; Local employment; Nuclear power facilities; Synthetic control method; Quantitative case study; Regression kink design; Endogenous treatment; Intergovernmental grants; Flypaper effect; Treatment effect heterogeneity; Instrumental variable; Oral health; Dentures; Price elasticity; Regression discontinuity design; Cost sharing; Randomization test; Economics; Nationalekonomi;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis consists of four self-contained papers.Essay 1: This paper uses the synthetic control (SC) method to examine how the establishment of Nuclear Power Facilities (NPFs) in Japan in the 1970s and 1980s has affected local per capita income levels in the municipalities in which they were located (NPF municipalities). 4. 4. Initialization Methods for System Identification

    Detta är en avhandling från Linköping : Linköping University Electronic Press

    Författare :Christian Lyzell; Linköpings universitet.; Linköpings universitet.; [2009]
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; System identification; Initialization methods; Regressor selection; Identifiability; TECHNOLOGY Information technology Automatic control; TEKNIKVETENSKAP Informationsteknik Reglerteknik;

    Sammanfattning : In the system identification community a popular framework for the problem of estimating a parametrized model structure given a sequence of input and output pairs is given by the prediction-error method. This method tries to find the parameters which maximize the prediction capability of the corresponding model via the minimization of some chosen cost function that depends on the prediction error. 5. 5. Photon migration in tissue : laser induced fluorescence for cancer diagnostics and influence of optical properties on microvascular Doppler spectroscopy

    Detta är en avhandling från Linköping : Linköpings universitet

    Författare :Henrik Nilsson; Linköpings universitet.; Linköpings universitet.; [2002]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Sammanfattning : Laser induced flourescence (LIF) is an "optical biopsy" method, based on the selective accumulation of fluorophores in neoplastic tissue. Two recently developed, non-photosensitizing tumor seeking carotenoporphyrins were assessed regarding tumor selectivity, and biodistribution, in experimental animals. LÄS MER
