  1. 1. Skogen som livsmiljö : En rättsvetenskaplig studie om skyddet för biologisk mångfald

    Författare :Maria Forsberg; Charlotta Zetterberg; Gabriel Michanek; Annika Nilsson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; biologisk mångfald; skog; skogsbruk; bevara; skydd; miljörätt; äganderätt; ersättningsrätt; planering; planer; adaptiv förvaltning; Miljörätt; Environmental Law;

    Sammanfattning : Globally, species are being eradicated at an accelerated rate, up to 1000 times faster than the rate of natural species loss. This is primarily due to the reduction and degradation of species habitats. As biodiversity decreases, ecosystems risk losing significant ecological processes and functions, such as natural water purification. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Towards a Minor Urbanism : Thinking Community without Unity in Recent Makings of Public Space

    Författare :Ida Sandström; Institutionen för arkitektur och byggd miljö; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Public Space; Spaces of Being-in-Common; Spaces of Collective Care; Minor Urbanism; Community without Unity; Community; Urban design; Urban space; City park; Urban planning; Co-Production; Urban Participation; Urbanism; Difference; Spaces of difference; Diversity; Spaces of diversity; offentliga rum; offentliga platser; urban arkitektur; Planering; mångfald; torg och parker; Urban design; urban gemenskap; urbanism; medborgardeltagande; medborgarengagemang; planeringspraktiker; gestaltad livsmiljö;

    Sammanfattning : HOW CAN WE PLAN AND DESIGN FOR community in diverse urban situations? In response to segregation and social fragmentation, public space is increasingly being conceived of as a vehicle for fostering openness towards differences, both in planning practice and theory. Drawing on two recent public space projects – Superkilen in Copenhagen, Denmark, and Jubileumsparken in Gothenburg, Sweden – this thesis explores what this hopeful idea may mean in terms of the actual making of public space. 3. 3. Bonden och landskapet : Ägares och brukares relationer till markerna och förutsättningarna för en uthållig markanvändning

    Författare :Marie Stenseke; Institutionen för kulturgeografi och ekonomisk geografi; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; landscape changes; farmers; sustainable agriculture; local perspective; Social geography; Swedish 20th century landscape; Socialgeografi;

    Sammanfattning : Farmers and Landscape. Owners and farmers relations to their land, and the prospects for sustainable land use. In a transition towards sustainability, rural land use is of certain interest, owing to the environmental impact of modern farming and forestry, and also to its potential role in a recycling society. 4. 4. Metapopulation ecology of Osmoderma eremita - dispersal, habitat quality and habitat history

    Författare :Jonas Hedin; Biologiska institutionen; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; extinction debt; habitat history; habitat quality; pheromone; telemetry; capture-mark-recapture; metapopulation; dispersal; oak; Osmoderma eremita; beetle; Animal ecology; Djurekologi;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis starts with a review of different biodiversity assessment methods in forests and the rest deals with the metapopulation ecology of Osmoderma eremita, a threatened beetle living in hollow trees. I concentrate on the effect of dispersal, habitat quality and habitat history for the presence, population size and future survival of this species. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Small biotopes in agricultural landscapes: importance for vascular plants and effects of management

    Författare :Therese Irminger Street; Biodiversitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Small biotopes; incidental habitat; vascular plants; woody vegetation; grassland species; resource provisioning; species richness; habitat specificity; non-crop habitat; landscape complexity; heterogeneity; local management; agri-environment scheme;

    Sammanfattning : As a consequence of agricultural intensification, large areas of non-crop habitat have been lost and farmland biodiversity has declined. Previous studies have shown that the extent of non-crop habitat influences farmland biodiversity, but the relative importance of different habitat types is less well known and the contribution of small incidental habitats to landscape-scale species richness is not fully understood.
